The Norskogg is a stoat-like, six-limbed creature, sporting an elongated, furred body with short limbs. It has two sets of ears, fluffy fur lining the ends of its feet, and a puffy mane scattered with diamond and star-shaped markings. Star-themed decorations drape from its back and the base of its tail, which has a long, slim extension bearing another star decoration hanging from its tip like a lantern. Floating above its head is a diamond-shaped item, similar to that of Wardens.

Abilities

Burrower (3)
Burrower is an active ability that allows the user to place up to 4 (or a specific creature limit) burrows anywhere on the map and use burrows created by other players. If a user places more entrances than the maximum allowed, the oldest burrow and exit will be replaced. A user cannot place a burrow entrance inside its own burrow or inside someone else's burrow. There is a 3 second cooldown between entering and exiting burrows, excluding entering a burrow after its initial placement.
Speed Blitz
Speed Blitz is an active ability that will consume half of the user's stamina bar if it is above 50% and apply 6 stacks (18 seconds) of the Speed Blitz Status. It has a 90 second cooldown.
Stamina Puddle
Stamina Puddle is an active ability that places down a small star-filled puddle. Once a user interacts with the puddle, their stamina will regenerate three times faster for 180 seconds. Placement has a 120 second cooldown. A creature can place more than 1 puddle at a time, but the boost will not stack or reset to max by interacting multiple times with a puddle before the stamina boost fades.
Block Bleed (0.1)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Frosty
Frosty is a passive ability that causes the user to receive +25% stamina regeneration, +25% health regeneration, -25% thirst depletion, and -25% hunger depletion during Winter and Famine. Additionally, it prevents getting hypothermia from blizzards.

Trivia

  • Concept by malarkeii. Norskogg is based off of a stoat, a small mammal in the Mustelid family. However, its patterning is mostly reminiscent of a ferret. Norskogg's name can be broken up into two segments. "Nor" refers to the north star Polaris, a star long used in naval, aerial, and land based navigation. "Skogg" is derived from a Swedish word meaning forest. Norskogg's patterns resemble a star-clad Christmas tree.
  • Norskogg is rumored to play among the same northern lights and stars its patterns were initially inspired by.
  • Succeeding the release of the Ura, Norskogg is the second in-game creature that can fly without wings. Due to its resemblance to the Ura, this has made some players dub it the "mini-Ura", "cheap Ura", "diet coke Ura", "Ura on a budget", or "Christmas Ura", and classify it as a "noodle" too.
  • The creature used to lack the winter tag, a feature most winter-inspired creatures had that granted them immunity to the Winter and Famine's icy winds. The developers confirmed this was intentional. However, due to high player demand, it eventually received it in the update the Yohsog and Tundrik were released.
  • Norskogg is the first flying creature to receive a unique, airborne trail. If a Signature Look or Theme is used, the color of the trail changes to match it.
