Appearance

The Seradae resembles something of an Eastern dragon, sporting the typical long, serpentine body with rather short stubby legs ending with 5 clawed toes on each foot (the 2 are placed on the side and point backwards behind the ankle). Along its body are vibrant, blue scales that cover the upper torso of the creature with ornate patterning on each; towards the head and neck, the Seradae supports cyan blue horns and spikes jutting out near the top of the creature's head and flows down the middle of the neck, seemingly getting longer towards the tail and ending just right before the tail begins. Its head has a rather small snout with 2 blue protruding "tusks" coming from the top jaw, and in the maw lines small, pointed teeth. Parts of its body also has short red-orange fur around the shoulders, base of the head, and parts around the legs and jaw the fur extends into long strands resembling whiskers. The tail ends in a bushy, broom-like tufts of fur/scales.

The color palette for the Seradae ranges between warm, orange hues and light blue/cyan colors.

**Males**: Males have two long whisker-like extensions protruding from the base of their tail.

Abilities

Escape Area
Escape Area is an active ability that causes 40% total HP damage to the user in exchange for a 100% above-ground movement speed boost and a 50% damage debuff for 10 stacks. It has a 75 second cooldown. Additionally, any of the user's depleted stamina is fully replenished. It cannot be used if the user is at less 40% health total.
Healing Hunter (75)
Healing Hunter is a toggleable active ability that allows the user to deal melee hits that replenish the target's HP when hitting. This ability also allows the healer to toggle between melee heal mode and regular attack mode, where the healer's bites deal melee damage instead. It also prevents bleed and poison-booster plushies from giving extra offensive bleed or poison when hitting under healing mode. If a creature with this ability is on healing mode, they are surrounded by a pink hollow sphere with pink cross particles.
Mud Pile
Mud Pile is an active ability that allows the user to place a mud pile that lasts for 60 seconds. Creatures can wallow in the mud to gain healing Muddy status and unscentable status for 90 seconds.
Agile Swimmer
Agile Swimmer is a passive ability that causes the player to receive the following buffs when submerged underwater for more than a second: 100% more stamina regeneration 50% more total stamina 75% more walk speed 75% more sprint speed A % increase in oxygen (oxygen increase percentage is based off the amount of oxygen the creature originally has) Additionally, a glider semi-aquatic (and an aqua-glider) can abuse the extra stamina to increase the number of glide flaps it can perform from the water boosted. Until they touch the ground or stop gliding, the boosted stamina amount will remain.
Block Bleed (0.4)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Block Injury (0.45)
Injury Block/Block Injury is a passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting Injury status from melee attacks at the very least. It is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 Injury per hit and the receiver has 60% Injury Block, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 Injury.
Block Poison (0.5)
Block Poison/Poison Block is a passive ability that grants resistance to poison status once they reach max age (100). Like many other block defenses, it works by blocking a percentage of the ailment received. If a creature's Poison Block is 100%, then they are immune to those stats (and will be healed instantly if they are somehow applied) once they reach age 100.
Broodwatcher
Broodwatcher is a passive ability that allows users to assist in the gestation of other players' eggs. It applies one stack of Gestation to nearby creatures, which increases other creatures' egg gestation speed by 2.5%. The total buff any nesting species can receive is 5%, so only two Broodwatchers can be effective at any one time. Additionally, when sitting near a nest, the Broodwatcher gains 5 Defensive, which starts to decrease if they move.
Defensive Bleed (3)
Defensive Bleed is a passive ability where the user defensively inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on their attacker upon being bitten.
Iron Stomach
Iron Stomach is a passive ability that allows the user to eat rotten meat without getting negative ailments from it--preventing them from getting the Sickly Status.
Pack Healer
Pack Healer is a pack-oriented passive ability. This passive ability allows the user to boost the HP regen of their fellow packmates.

Trivia

  • Original and redesign concepts by Undeary in the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. Seradae's initial design was inspired by a wolf, a lion, and crystals. Seradae's redesign was inspired by Eastern dragons.
  • Previous model by Erythia.
  • This creature was originally planned to be a Limited Creature, or designed to serve as a creature for the testers of the game. This was later changed, with the developers choosing the Sigmatox instead. As a result, Seradae was declared a scrapped concept. However, it returned with a redesign in August of 2023. It was then added on August 18, 2023, alongside Apofuex, another scrapped concept which returned.
  • Seradae was the second Land creature that received the Agile Swimmer ability. Thykallos was the first.
