Each of the creature's heads has one row of eyes, situated on the 'outer' side of its head (left head has eye rows on its left side, and the right head has eye rows on its right side). The creature has 2 pairs of serrated wings, a set of mantid-like arms beneath its forelegs, and a thick, clubbed tail.

Abilities

Life Leech (0.25)
Life Leech is an active ability that allows the user to heal themselves for a certain percentage (%) of damage done to other players while the ability is active. Can be boosted by healing plushies or a healer-based creature.
Berserk
Berserk is a passive ability that activates at below 20% health. It increases stamina regeneration by 100% and decreases bite cooldown by 50%.
Bleed Attack (4)
Bleed Attack is a passive ability, where the user inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on a creature with every bite, excluding with breath/ranged abilities or reflecting abilities. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Block Bleed (0.45)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Block Poison (0.85)
Block Poison/Poison Block is a passive ability that grants resistance to poison status once they reach max age (100). Like many other block defenses, it works by blocking a percentage of the ailment received. If a creature's Poison Block is 100%, then they are immune to those stats (and will be healed instantly if they are somehow applied) once they reach age 100.
Charge (Gore)
Charge is a passive ability that gradually fills an orange "Charge" bar (unique to creatures with this ability) while running. Once completely full, clicking (Lmb on PC or on Mobile or RT on Xbox) will apply special effects on a creature the user is hitting. If the bar is not full, charge effects may be reduced or non-existent. Current Charge types:
Climber
Climber is a passive ability that allows the user to walk on walls and ceilings. To detach from a wall, press the Space on PC. On Mobile, press the dedicated Detach button, or, if the creature has Jump, press the jump button.
Defensive Bleed (1)
Defensive Bleed is a passive ability where the user defensively inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on their attacker upon being bitten.
Injury Attack (1)
Injury Attack is an ability that offensively deals injury status when biting. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Serrated Teeth
Serrated Teeth is a passive ability that offensively inflicts Deep Wounds status when biting.

Behavior

  • Trutholbyeva commonly befriend other species, and are almost entirely docile unless attacked or if another critter eats their food.
  • The taste of too much blood drives Trutholbyeva into a frenzied state, which usually ends in a death induced by recklessness.
  • Trutholbyeva are highly aggressive at night, and will usually wander anywhere on land.
  • Trutholbyeva parents take extreme care of their young, protecting them to the death from any predator.
  • Trutholbyeva prefer to travel alone or in medium-sized family groups of up to 7. However during the day, they gather in large caves by the hundreds, and hang on the ceiling, walls, and floor until night returns.
  • Trutholbyevas have two heads, however only one head has a brain. The other head works more as an extra limb.
  • The front head spikes, often confused as teeth, are used to ram into enemies. This usually causes them to then get stuck in an opponents body, and when this happens they are extremely hard to pull out and cause heavy bleeding to the opponent.
  • Trutholbyevas can fly, but it's usually to relocate to new food areas, escaping danger too strong to fight, or to ambush trespassers near their cave.
  • Disabled and elderly Trutholbyevas stay in caves and forests, and are cared for by younger generations.
  • Photovores are very commonly kept as pets in colonies.

Lore (non-canon)

  • Trutholbyevas are adapted to eat plants, however can still eat meat due to their ancestors' omnivorous traits it needed to survive in deep sea caves.
  • Trutholbyevas can be born with one head due to genetics, although this is rarer than the two headed variant.
  • Trutholbyeva who experience the Dazzling Flash on them will go permanently blind.

Trivia

  • CatboyNathann created Trutholbyeva to be their developer creature because they like things that aren't what they seem, hence the fact that it is an herbivore despite its carnivorous appearance. Trutholbyeva's design is based on the inaccurate reconstructions of Helicoprion (a prehistoric cartilaginous fish that lived during the Permian period), whip scorpions, and lobsters.
  • Redesign by TyrantDinosaur889 on the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. Redesigned model released on 11/26/2021.
  • Modeled and animated by Nathan. Erythia helped with finalizing animations.
  • Trutholbyeva borrows aggro sounds from the Aolenus into friendly sounds; it also borrows Pero's aggro sound with some changes.
  • Trutholbyeva has had the most remodels of any Developer Creature, or any creature in general. The Trutholbyeva Remodel V2 was scrapped as Nathan did not like the appearance, and Nathan confirmed the Trutholbyeva would get a full anatomy change in V3. The first 'remodel' is scrapped but the model itself will be publicly available for use. Pre-redesign Trutholbyeva had purple/violet blood. In real life, the change in color is caused by hemerythrin, a respiratory pigment of a purplish/violet color once oxygenated, replacing hemoglobin in several invertebrates. The current redesign lacks purple blood and instead has the default red blood. Pre-remodel had the third highest bleed (13) at the time, with the Magnarothus having the highest bleed of 20, and Syroudon having the second-highest bleed of 15, and had the highest bleed out of all the herbivores in-game. With the remodel, it has been lowered to 6. Pre-remodel Trutholbyeva could use its animations to stay still on top of lava without taking damage. The remodel is incapable of doing so.
  • Trutholbyeva's Developer tag was removed when its remodel got released. Later, on March 2022, its tag got added once again, despite its dev being retired. Even so, it could still only be purchased in the Developer Creatures Shop for 300 Robux. Trutholbyeva permanently lost its developer creature condition and become a Robux Shop creature on October 28, 2022, keeping its price of 300 Robux. It took twice as long to incubate an egg in a nest due to its status as a developer creature.
  • The remodel is the first confirmed creature to possess two heads, as well as one of the first three creatures that possess more than one head along with Sar'Hingaro/Ahri'Tahmuk and Cavengauu.
  • Trutholbyeva had planned an ability known as life leech/body decay, which would “steal x amount of health” from a target and “gain 1.2-2 x health” when applied. It was also stated that health gained should always be higher than damage inflicted. Finally the Trutholbyeva gained this ability on the same update it lost its developer creature tag.
  • There is a UGC item for this creature, made by TamBrush, called Trutholbyeva Wings, which is purchasable for 120 Robux.
  • The Trutholbyeva is one of the only creatures to not move its head when looking at something; the same happens to Kavouradis.
