Appearance

The Beezu is a small bipedal mammalian creature that resembles a bee mixed with a bat. It has a bat-like head and two large brown and yellow ears with a curl at each tip of them, which are actually antennae. They also sport two pairs of large fangs that stick slightly outwards from the mouth, along with a light-pink tongue. A messy dark brown mane surrounds the neck and parts of the chest ending in a mohawk at the top of the head. Just below the mane, they have a pair of yellow and orange wings with brown fur covering the shoulders, elbows, and forearms. The legs are round with a two small toes at the end. They have a large black, brown and yellow stripedabdomen-shaped tail with segments and a stinger at the end, with some resemblance to their inspiration, carpenter bees.

Abilities

Burrower (4)
Burrower is an active ability that allows the user to place up to 4 (or a specific creature limit) burrows anywhere on the map and use burrows created by other players. If a user places more entrances than the maximum allowed, the oldest burrow and exit will be replaced. A user cannot place a burrow entrance inside its own burrow or inside someone else's burrow. There is a 3 second cooldown between entering and exiting burrows, excluding entering a burrow after its initial placement.
Egg Stealer
Egg Stealer is an active ability that allows creatures to steal eggs from the nests of other players. If a creature has this ability, eggs are also highlighted with an egg icon when scenting.
Spite (0.10)
Spite is an active ability that increases a user's next attack damage based on its power meter, which gradually fills once the ability is triggered and then drains to 0 if no creature is attacked by the user during this time. It also has a customizable percentage (%) of the creature's damage (the % listed is the max of said creature's Spite power). Alongside raw damage, the user inflicts double ailments on their targets. The ability has a 20-second cooldown that starts upon activation.
Block Bleed (0.1)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Climber
Climber is a passive ability that allows the user to walk on walls and ceilings. To detach from a wall, press the Space on PC. On Mobile, press the dedicated Detach button, or, if the creature has Jump, press the jump button.
Poison Attack (1)
Poison Attack is a passive ability that makes the user deal Poison Status to another creature upon biting them. It stacks with itself. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Sonic Wings
Sonic Wings is a passive ability that allows the user to idle while flying without consuming or regaining stamina.
Strength In Numbers
Strength In Numbers is a passive ability that gives the user a 7% stamina regeneration boost and a 1.5% damage boost. It stacks according to how many creatures with the same ability and species are nearby. If there are no other users with this ability nearby, it will not provide the boost.

  • Original concept by UnwaryWindows on the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. Beezu's name was derived from the word bee, and Zubat from Pokémon. Beezu was inspired by carpenter bees and fruit bats with a scruffy/ruff design in mind.

  • Beezu used to be one of the few creatures with insect-like parts in the game, but since then, a plethora of bug-themed creatures have released.
