Egg Stealer is an active ability that allows creatures to steal eggs from the nests of other players. If a creature has this ability, eggs are also highlighted with an egg icon when scenting.
Hunters Curse is an active ability that costs half of total health to use but grants 10 stacks (30 seconds) of the Hunters Curse status, which increases damage by 100%. It has a 120 second cooldown.
Latch is an active ability that allows the user to latch onto higher-tiered creatures. Creatures that the user has latched into cannot escape for 5 seconds. After that, the latched creature can struggle by pressing any button and will release such creature from the latch. The user can unlatch at any moment by pressing the same button used to latch in the first place.
Unbridled Rage is an active ability that consumes half of a user's stamina upon being activated and grants 10 stacks (30 seconds) of the Unbridled Rage Status. It has a 120 second cooldown.
Spite is an active ability that increases a user's next attack damage based on its power meter, which gradually fills once the ability is triggered and then drains to 0 if no creature is attacked by the user during this time. It also has a customizable percentage (%) of the creature's damage (the % listed is the max of said creature's Spite power). Alongside raw damage, the user inflicts double ailments on their targets. The ability has a 20-second cooldown that starts upon activation.
Agile Swimmer is a passive ability that causes the player to receive the following buffs when submerged underwater for more than a second: 100% more stamina regeneration 50% more total stamina 75% more walk speed 75% more sprint speed A % increase in oxygen (oxygen increase percentage is based off the amount of oxygen the creature originally has) Additionally, a glider semi-aquatic (and an aqua-glider) can abuse the extra stamina to increase the number of glide flaps it can perform from the water boosted. Until they touch the ground or stop gliding, the boosted stamina amount will remain.
Climber is a passive ability that allows the user to walk on walls and ceilings. To detach from a wall, press the Space on PC. On Mobile, press the dedicated Detach button, or, if the creature has Jump, press the jump button.
Poison Attack is a passive ability that makes the user deal Poison Status to another creature upon biting them. It stacks with itself. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Raider is a passive ability that allows users to enter and exit burrows, but not create them.

Appearance
The Fernifly is a flat-broad-headed, small, lizard-like reptile similar to Longisquama in terms of its back ridges. It features a spot pattern on its spines and broad, forked tail which resembles a samara. Its tail is massive compared to its body, making up about half of Fernifly's full length. It also has a dewlap on its throat. **Males**: Males have a large rounded head crest that has spots on it. - Concept by NauticaElurra on the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. Inspired from a "maple seed pod." The Fernifly has the ability to glide in a similar fashion to maple seed pods, rotor kites, and autogyros (the predecessors of helicopters). The Fernifly was just a "little joke concept" Naut decided to make, being "entirely based around the fact that it spins to glide. That's why the rest of the concept is so bland, and there isn't much going for it besides that lmao." (quoted by concept creator NauticaElurra).

- The Fernifly had mucus green blood. The Fernifly now has red blood. This is an actual color in some Earth creatures: both from those that use chlorocruorin, a green oxygen carrier that replaces hemoglobin in some invertebrates blood; and in some vertebrates (like some green tree skinks) that have adapted to carry lethal amounts of biliverdin in their blood, which is a toxic byproduct of heme catabolism whose only good side is that it has anti-mutagenic properties; albeit not on this shade of color- It is possibly lime just because of the inspiration of this creature, meaning the blood could be sap or just colored to be less noticeable in their habitat, which is more fitting for the Fernifly.
- It is often referred to as "attack helicopter" or "helicopter" due to the way it spins during gliding, people equipping a Dragon Plushie on it and attacking players, and because during its release, Alertcoderf made a joke, calling the creature 'Apache Attack Helicopter with Green Camo'.
- Fernifly had a bug related to getting stuck using its helicopter animation after gliding. It seems this has been patched.
