Appearance

The Irdegarde is a quadrupedal hare-like creature with a broad snout and ornate, pointed antlers. Its face is short and has a pair of rabbit-like ears. Tufts of fur can be found lining/sprouting from many parts of the Irdegarde's body, such as the insides of its very long ears, its chest, its shoulders, and its rump. Most of the creature is covered in armor-like plates, whose design is reminiscent of medieval royalty, wealth, and elegance. It has a mid-sized tail that ends in some fluff and a pointed tip, similar to the pointed tips found on the antlers.

**Males**: Males have a small beard on the underside of their lower jaw and chin.

Abilities

Burrower (1)
Burrower is an active ability that allows the user to place up to 4 (or a specific creature limit) burrows anywhere on the map and use burrows created by other players. If a user places more entrances than the maximum allowed, the oldest burrow and exit will be replaced. A user cannot place a burrow entrance inside its own burrow or inside someone else's burrow. There is a 3 second cooldown between entering and exiting burrows, excluding entering a burrow after its initial placement.
Reflect
Reflect is an active ability. Upon initial use, it will grant the user 2 stacks of Reflect Status. It has a cooldown of 45 seconds.
Speed Steal
Speed Steal is an active ability that provides a speed boost to the user while giving 4 stacks of Stolen Speed Status to nearby creatures.
Bleed Attack (3)
Bleed Attack is a passive ability, where the user inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on a creature with every bite, excluding with breath/ranged abilities or reflecting abilities. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Block Bleed (0.35)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Block Frostbite (0.20)
Frostbite Block/Block Frostbite is a passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting frostbite status from melee attacks at the very least, and every other source at most. It is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 frostbite per hit and the receiver has 60% block frostbite, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 frostbite.
Block Injury (0.50)
Injury Block/Block Injury is a passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting Injury status from melee attacks at the very least. It is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 Injury per hit and the receiver has 60% Injury Block, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 Injury.
Charge (Gore)
Charge is a passive ability that gradually fills an orange "Charge" bar (unique to creatures with this ability) while running. Once completely full, clicking (Lmb on PC or on Mobile or RT on Xbox) will apply special effects on a creature the user is hitting. If the bar is not full, charge effects may be reduced or non-existent. Current Charge types:
First Strike (0.25)
First Strike is a passive ability that grants the user increased damage while they are above 75% health. The damage increase is depends on the creature and is reflected in its stat menu.
Wing Shredder (2)
Wing Shredder is a passive ability that allows the user to offensively deal the Shredded Wings status to a creature they bite..

Behavior

  • Irdegarde females have larger antlers than males. Groups are more commonly ruled by the female with the largest set.
  • Irdegarde aren’t known to live long and thus have a reputation of being mythical creatures.
  • Among others of their kind, both female and males can be very competitive, such as fighting for new territory, mates, etc. It's actually pretty common for them to mistake each other for the opposite gender (both males and females fight competitively but females are the dominant gender).

Trivia

  • Concept by TyrantDinosaur889 on the Creatures of Sonaria discord. Based off of "jackalopes with a medieval twist". When you think medieval, you think of like royalty and kings/queens with really fancy wear or maybe knights and stuff so I tried to pull off a regal look." (Quoted by concept creator TyrantDinosaur889).
  • Animated by BlckBrryJam.
  • The theme for Irdegarde was Medieval, with a bit of Ancient History. It was also in the Ancient History Limited Gacha along with Athulyth.
  • Redesign concept by Stood ( Stood_04 ).
  • Redesign modeled by Exell_Ex.
  • Redesign rigged by Mezzioli.
  • Redesign animated by SleepyNorsil.
  • Has glowing deep cobalt blood, and is the first creature to have it. Due to this, when killed, the Irdegarde drops a deep cobalt blue carcass in Legacy. This is an actual color in some Earth creatures, from those that use hemocyanin, a blue oxygen carrier that replaces hemoglobin in some invertebrate's blood.
  • The Irdegarde is the second creature to have the Area Escape ability, the first being Aereis.
  • The Irdegarde is commonly nicknamed "Bunny".
