Appearance

The Zolbatros are golem-like creatures with a resemblance to terrestrial scorpions with granulated and spiked exoskeleton, while taking some liberties on their anatomy, like having it made of rock, lacking the most frontal pair of legs scorpions have (which would have been below the pedipalps), presenting an articulated prosoma that extends into an elongated neck with 2 pairs of special dagger-like appendages that replace the chelicera, and ends in a head with a single pair of small eyes and a vertical maxilar. Apart from that, their legs do not stem entirely from the cephalothorax area, instead also protruding from what would have been considered the mesosoma; or the "articulated" cephalothorax covers most of the "body" of the Zolbatros. Additionally, electricity currents move between the pincers' superior and inferior back articulations. Apart from those peculiarities, they have a fairly normal metasoma, and the common big pincer and smaller telson stinger common for the less venomous scorpions, used for grabbing prey and crush it through sheer force, more than relying on a potent venom to kill; however, as with all scorpions, this does not mean they lack venom.

Abilities

Grab
Grab is an active ability that allows the user to pick up a lower-tiered creature. Grabbed creatures cannot escape for 5 seconds. After that, the grabbed creature can struggle by pressing any button and will be released from the grab. The user can ungrab at any moment by pressing the same button used to grab. A creature darting from outside water will grab any creature it finds automatically.
Shock Area
The Shock Area active ability inflicts Shock Status, Broken Legs Status, and slows down flight speed by 60% for 30 seconds when used. It has a 90 second cooldown.
Block Bleed (1.00)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Block Injury (0.25)
Injury Block/Block Injury is a passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting Injury status from melee attacks at the very least. It is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 Injury per hit and the receiver has 60% Injury Block, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 Injury.
Block Poison (0.25)
Block Poison/Poison Block is a passive ability that grants resistance to poison status once they reach max age (100). Like many other block defenses, it works by blocking a percentage of the ailment received. If a creature's Poison Block is 100%, then they are immune to those stats (and will be healed instantly if they are somehow applied) once they reach age 100.
Channeling
Channeling is a passive ability that activates when a user with it is at 25% or less health. Every 5 seconds, any creature within a 150 stud radius of the user will receive 3 shock status and 2 confusion status. The status effects stack with each strike.
Climber
Climber is a passive ability that allows the user to walk on walls and ceilings. To detach from a wall, press the Space on PC. On Mobile, press the dedicated Detach button, or, if the creature has Jump, press the jump button.
Injury Attack (3)
Injury Attack is an ability that offensively deals injury status when biting. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Poison Attack (1)
Poison Attack is a passive ability that makes the user deal Poison Status to another creature upon biting them. It stacks with itself. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.

  • Concept by Shugalio_333 & Luciealthedemon in the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. Inspired by scorpions and W.I.P. Zolbatros is one of the first creature based primarily off a scorpion, with the most resemblance to a scorpion.
  • Alongside Frigilinx and Somnia Elus, it is one of the first creatures that didn't appear in the legacy game after the release of the Official Recode.
