Appearance

The Khiku resembles an avian dinosaur, crane or Modern Game with a long tail of spiked feathers. It has thin and long legs with bird-like talons and a prominent, almost beak-like mouth. It has several feathers across its body, one of them happening to be particularly prevalent on its head and looking like a skull protrusion.

Abilities

Self-Destruct
Self-Destruct is an active ability that can only be used at 25% health or less. When activated, all creatures in a 100 stud radius will be dealt 30% of their total health (before weight multipliers, which do apply), 10 stacks of Burn status, and knockback. Using Self-Destruct does not immediately kill the user, and instead leaves them at 2.5% of their total health; however, it can kill opponents. It has a cooldown of 300 seconds.
Bleed Attack (1)
Bleed Attack is a passive ability, where the user inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on a creature with every bite, excluding with breath/ranged abilities or reflecting abilities. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Block Bleed (0.35)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Block Injury (0.50)
Injury Block/Block Injury is a passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting Injury status from melee attacks at the very least. It is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 Injury per hit and the receiver has 60% Injury Block, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 Injury.
Iron Stomach
Iron Stomach is a passive ability that allows the user to eat rotten meat without getting negative ailments from it--preventing them from getting the Sickly Status.
Keen Observer
Keen Observer is a passive ability that allows the user to see the health, equipped Plushies, Traits, and status effects of nearby creatures with a green HP bar over them. Temporary status buffs are set on green, temporary status debuffs on red, traits now present their correct indicator and plushies are marked with their plushie icon.
Quick Recovery
Quick Recovery is a passive ability that boosts HP regeneration when the user's health is below 40%. The lower the health, the higher the HP regeneration boost.
Strength In Numbers
Strength In Numbers is a passive ability that gives the user a 7% stamina regeneration boost and a 1.5% damage boost. It stacks according to how many creatures with the same ability and species are nearby. If there are no other users with this ability nearby, it will not provide the boost.

Trivia

  • Designed by Stood_04 and modeled by JaxonBirb. The Khiku was inspired by bird(s) (literally, Stood just said "b e r d").
  • Redesign by Kreepreek on the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. The Khiku redesign was based off the original concept, and had additional inspiration from a steampunk theme and the head being based off of plague doctor masks.
  • Originally modeled and animated by Erythia.
  • Redesign modeled by JaxonBirb.
  • Redesign animated by Mukudori. Over the updates this creature has been getting and losing this position constantly. It first lost it to the Ani, only to reclaim it again after May 28th, 2022, but lost it to Koipise in a later update, only to reclaim it again after the remodel was released. After the official recode, multiple creatures have become faster, leaving Khiku in the dust, not even in the top ten.
  • Khiku's in-game description was changed upon receiving its redesign, its previous one reading: "They would most likely use their speed for a hit and run tactic. They kick and slice with their long legs. They are very weak in both health and attack damage and would prefer running away over fighting."
  • The redesigned Khiku has light blue blood on Legacy mode. Due to this, when killed, the Khiku drops a light blue carcass.
  • The Khiku used to be in the Omnivore Gacha, but upon its redesign got moved to the Mutation Gacha, and then to Mecha Gacha. The Khiku ended up being moved once again when the mutation gacha was split into the mecha and monster gachas, being moved to the mecha gacha.
