Appearance

The Ovufu is a long-bodied, six-limbed, small-headed creature resembling a stoat or ferret with teal-spotted markings, branch-like extensions on its fluffy tail, and horn-like branches on its head. Along its jaw and back of its hind legs are long, green fin-like features with blue spots. It has large ears, small eyes, large forelimbs of the first set of limbs, a short set of limbs hanging from the middle of its torso, and the third set are skinnier back legs. On the shoulder and base of its tail are large, yellow flowers. It consists of blue-greens, greens, browns, and yellows.

Abilities

Egg Stealer
Egg Stealer is an active ability that allows creatures to steal eggs from the nests of other players. If a creature has this ability, eggs are also highlighted with an egg icon when scenting.
Invisibility
Invisibility is an active ability that makes the user invisible to other players when toggled. Invisibility allows the user to walk and swim cloaked as long as they don't bite, use any active ability, sprint, ambush, or jump/fly/glide. While active it does not hide the creature from being spotted by scent. Additionally, invisibility has a 30 second cooldown after being activated; however, deactivating the ability does not modify the cooldown.
Mud Pile
Mud Pile is an active ability that allows the user to place a mud pile that lasts for 60 seconds. Creatures can wallow in the mud to gain healing Muddy status and unscentable status for 90 seconds.
Bleed Attack (5)
Bleed Attack is a passive ability, where the user inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on a creature with every bite, excluding with breath/ranged abilities or reflecting abilities. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Block Bleed (0.4)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Defensive Bleed (1.5)
Defensive Bleed is a passive ability where the user defensively inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on their attacker upon being bitten.
Raider
Raider is a passive ability that allows users to enter and exit burrows, but not create them.

Behavior

  • Ovufu are devious creatures who spend their time hiding in holes and shadows. Similarly, they thrive in areas with a lot of hiding places, such as wooded areas and mountains.
  • Ovufu are very intelligent, and steal food from other creatures instead of actively hunting.
  • Ovufu gather in groups of four to five, called ovuckles.
  • Ovufu carry eggs with its smaller set of arms that hang from its midsection.

Trivia

  • Concept by PolarissYT on the Creatures of Sonaria Discord server. Ovufu was inspired by ferrets, a general spring theme, and a prompt given by Naut: "Apex/hostile creature and egg thief". Despite the concept art displaying a bushy tail, it has spikes on the tail similar to the Doragonix. A speedpaint of Ovufu's concept art was published to PolarissYT's YouTube channel shortly after its reveal.
