Appearance

The Reviiaton is a leviathan-like creature with a hexapedal-like and slim build, having one-clawed flippers on each pair of limbs (with the front ones being the most developed), and sporting a long dorsal fin that stems from the base of the neck and continues to the horizontal caudal fin. All their fins have a look halfway between being complex ray-fins and being made of feathers. Reviiaton have additional features such as a large backwards-pointing horn on the tip of their snout, baubles which grow from the top of their torso and tail base, and several white spots covering the sides of their bodies and neck. Their streamlined body is made for darting out of the water to catch flying prey or to propel them in the depths.

Abilities

Grab
Grab is an active ability that allows the user to pick up a lower-tiered creature. Grabbed creatures cannot escape for 5 seconds. After that, the grabbed creature can struggle by pressing any button and will be released from the grab. The user can ungrab at any moment by pressing the same button used to grab. A creature darting from outside water will grab any creature it finds automatically.
Berserk
Berserk is a passive ability that activates at below 20% health. It increases stamina regeneration by 100% and decreases bite cooldown by 50%.
Bleed Attack (3)
Bleed Attack is a passive ability, where the user inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on a creature with every bite, excluding with breath/ranged abilities or reflecting abilities. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Block Bleed (0.2)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.

Trivia

  • Designed by @daktronic on the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. The Reviiaton was originally designed to be terrestrial, but in the end it became aquatic. The Reviiaton was mainly inspired by the model of a monster from Monster Hunter and a killer whale. Its name is a play on the word 'leviathan', a mythical creature that is usually depicted as a sea serpent. Its original name was 'Reaper Leviathan', but it was changed due to another franchise having a species of the same name (Subnautica).
  • Modeled by Erythia.
  • The Reviiaton was once a starter creature for new users of the game, but was later removed.
  • In Legacy, players can color Reviiaton with a color outside its palette (orange) by selecting the eyes or light bulbs' color. However, they only display properly in the paint and main menu. After it's redesign in the Recode, orange is part of it's pallet, albeit more faded.
  • In Legacy, it was going to have an ability where it could sit on land for short periods, along with Nimoona, but news about it were never heard of again. With the addition of moisture in the Recode, both the Reviiaton, Nimoona, and all other aquatic creatures can now do this.
  • If you played in the Official Recode Beta, or the current Main game (Recode) Mode, Reviiaton is already redesigned. However, it still uses the old model in the Legacy game.
