Appearance

The Undoli is a quadrupedal creature that has a slim and creepy appearance. Its body is structured like a creature bursting out of the body of a creature doll, its snout emerging out of the doll's mouth, its limbs from the doll's limbs, and its tail from the doll's back end. Across its body are markings that resemble stitches. Along the length of its torso, the 'stitches' expand and rip, revealing a sliver of the Undoli's bright body underneath. Along its back and chest, protrusions resembling ballpoint needles can be found, with blood-like markings found where the 'needles' pierce the creature.

It has outward-facing teeth and tusk-like structures that stick out from the sides of the creature's mouth. Its mouth also includes a long light-green tongue. It also has a row of jagged spikes that look like hooks which stick out from the underside of its tail.

Despite being able to Glimmer, the Undoli does not show any other forms of shine (or at least, barely noticeable under its normal bioluminescence) when Glimmered.

**Males**: Male Undoli have extra yellow pins on the bottom of their horns, and on the back of the neck.

Male Undoli have extra yellow pins on the bottom of their horns, and on the back of the neck.

**Female**: Female Undoli lack the extra pins that males have near their head, but have 4 pins (2 red and 2 yellow) on their chest between their front legs.

Abilities

Cause Fear
Cause Fear is an active ability and Recode's equivalent of Fear. It gives all creatures around the user 10 stacks (30 seconds) of Scared Status effect, and has a cooldown of 120 seconds (2 minutes).
Hunters Curse
Hunters Curse is an active ability that costs half of total health to use but grants 10 stacks (30 seconds) of the Hunters Curse status, which increases damage by 100%. It has a 120 second cooldown.
Bleed Attack (4)
Bleed Attack is a passive ability, where the user inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on a creature with every bite, excluding with breath/ranged abilities or reflecting abilities. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Block Bleed (0.60)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Iron Stomach
Iron Stomach is a passive ability that allows the user to eat rotten meat without getting negative ailments from it--preventing them from getting the Sickly Status.
Poison Attack (2)
Poison Attack is a passive ability that makes the user deal Poison Status to another creature upon biting them. It stacks with itself. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Wing Shredder (1)
Wing Shredder is a passive ability that allows the user to offensively deal the Shredded Wings status to a creature they bite..

Lore (non-canon)

  • Undoli realistically have no age, as they are just entities that exist solely for consuming mortal souls and causing chaos.
  • When they are first manifested into the physical realm they're "naked" and only will they be granted a disguise after they've taken down their first victim (their disguise's appearance depends on what their first victim looked like and will be permanent). With this knowledge, we can technically confirm the in-game Undoli's first victim was in fact a pre-remodel Trutholbyeva.

Trivia

  • Concept by mawfull (maw ♡#5820) on the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. "The Undoli is NOT a voodoo doll. Voodoo is a closed practice which originated in Africa and it would be disrespectful to call it so (not anybody's fault for misunderstanding and/or not knowing). It is based off of dolls/haunted dolls in general and sewing, and therefore sewing pins are there because they have to do with sewing. Voodoo does not necessarily have to do with pins; not to mention voodoo pins often have charms on them." - Quoted by Concept Creator, mawfull. "Uphethe Undoli" can translate to "He has a doll" or just "Doll" in the language Zulu based on Google Translate.
  • Modeled by Azaph.
  • Animated by Nimwit.
  • The Legacy Undoli has vibrant green blood. Due to this, when killed, the Undoli drops a green carcass. This is an actual color in some Earth creatures: both from those that use chlorocruorin, a green oxygen carrier that replaces hemoglobin in some invertebrates blood; and in some vertebrates (like some green tree skinks) that have adapted to carry lethal amounts of biliverdin in their blood, which is a toxic byproduct of heme catabolism whose only good side is that it has anti-mutagenic properties, with the latter being more fitting for the Undoli's lore as a spooky being.
