Abilities

Burrower (4)
Burrower is an active ability that allows the user to place up to 4 (or a specific creature limit) burrows anywhere on the map and use burrows created by other players. If a user places more entrances than the maximum allowed, the oldest burrow and exit will be replaced. A user cannot place a burrow entrance inside its own burrow or inside someone else's burrow. There is a 3 second cooldown between entering and exiting burrows, excluding entering a burrow after its initial placement.
Dazzling Flash
Dazzling Flash is an active ability that generates a quick white flash and causes nearby creatures to experience confusion, tunnel vision, and blurred vision. It has a 70 second cooldown.
Egg Stealer
Egg Stealer is an active ability that allows creatures to steal eggs from the nests of other players. If a creature has this ability, eggs are also highlighted with an egg icon when scenting.
Agile Swimmer
Agile Swimmer is a passive ability that causes the player to receive the following buffs when submerged underwater for more than a second: 100% more stamina regeneration 50% more total stamina 75% more walk speed 75% more sprint speed A % increase in oxygen (oxygen increase percentage is based off the amount of oxygen the creature originally has) Additionally, a glider semi-aquatic (and an aqua-glider) can abuse the extra stamina to increase the number of glide flaps it can perform from the water boosted. Until they touch the ground or stop gliding, the boosted stamina amount will remain.
Bleed Attack (2)
Bleed Attack is a passive ability, where the user inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on a creature with every bite, excluding with breath/ranged abilities or reflecting abilities. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Block Bleed (0.50)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Block Injury (0.50)
Injury Block/Block Injury is a passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting Injury status from melee attacks at the very least. It is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 Injury per hit and the receiver has 60% Injury Block, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 Injury.
Charge (Gore)
Charge is a passive ability that gradually fills an orange "Charge" bar (unique to creatures with this ability) while running. Once completely full, clicking (Lmb on PC or on Mobile or RT on Xbox) will apply special effects on a creature the user is hitting. If the bar is not full, charge effects may be reduced or non-existent. Current Charge types:
Soft Landing (0.9)
Soft Landing is a passive ability that allows the user to fall more slowly, depending on each creature's specific stat number. It works when walking off cliffs/falling, detaching, darting, or jumping. It is cancellable by pressing (Space on PC or or B on Xbox).
Strength In Numbers
Strength In Numbers is a passive ability that gives the user a 7% stamina regeneration boost and a 1.5% damage boost. It stacks according to how many creatures with the same ability and species are nearby. If there are no other users with this ability nearby, it will not provide the boost.

Behavior

  • Yiepir packs are very tightly knit and headed by the most brightly colored of the group. However, glimmered Yiepir are automatically promoted to leader. The brighter one is, the more likely it is that it has survived against the odds. These bright creatures sort of become worshipped by other Yiepir as a result.
  • Yiepir has "gigachad complex" and will absolutely attack creatures like Wardens if they're in a bad mood. Shoals of Yiepir will go out of their way to kill young, sick, or injured Kendylls, Lures, and Syroudons (specifically by numerously cutting them) to eliminate future threats. Similar to meerkats, they look cute, but are actually huge jerks.
  • Yiepir love Glimmer creatures of all species. Bright/Glimmer creatures essentially override the killing instinct, and Yiepir will go out of their way to bring the gifts to the bright creature. They may even try to protect them from threats, including natural disasters, not that such actions ever really end well for them.

Lore (non-canon)

  • For whatever reason, they're one of the few things that tolerate the Minawii. Yiepir most likely consider that the Minawii, too, is an annoying king and will regularly forage for food together. If danger comes knocking, Yiepir and Minawiis together use the combined power of incoherent screaming and dazzling (from a safe place, such as a cave) to just annoy the predator enough that it leaves.

Trivia

  • Concept by raveioli17 from the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. The Yiepir was inspired by hummingbirds, sailfish, flying fish, and butterflies.
  • Modeled by JaxonBirb.
  • Yiepir was originally planned to be a glider semi-aquatic, though it could not by the time it released due to time constraints. There's a possibility that it may receive the ability to glide in the future, but there is no guarantee.
  • Its addition to the game marked itself as the 100th official creature.
