Questions
How does luck work in Heavyweight Fishing?
Each island gives every fish a weight. Luck takes weight x weight x luck / (10 x the island's total) off each one, rounded and never below 1, and the bite is a weighted pick from what's left. The commonest fish lose the most, so their share moves to the rare ones: on Beginning Isle, Trout goes from 31.5% to 1.39% at 50 luck, and Royal Carp from 0.63% to 2.78%.
Where does my luck come from?
Your rod's Luck plus your bait's: Basic Bait 3, Crude Mash Bait 8, Corrupted Essence Bait 18, Elite Bait 30, Ancestral Bait 50. Anything else that raises luck goes under Other luck.
Can luck give me fish from another island?
No. Luck only reweights the island you're fishing, and each island needs a rod with enough Power before you can cast there.
