Appearance

The Hebitoa is a quadrupedal, two-tusked boar-like creature with an overall palette consisting of dark reds and teal-blues. They have two small, beady eyes placed around the center of their heads, along with having a snout reminiscent of a pig's. Hebitoa has large tufts of fur, most noticeably on its shoulders and on the underside of its chest, though it has a few smaller tufts of fur on the back of its hind legs and thighs, its tail servicing as another medium length tuft. Along its neck are rounded, stripe-like white markings.

**Males**: Males have giant tusks protruding from the sides of their mouth. The right tusk is broken.

Abilities

Burrower (3)
Burrower is an active ability that allows the user to place up to 4 (or a specific creature limit) burrows anywhere on the map and use burrows created by other players. If a user places more entrances than the maximum allowed, the oldest burrow and exit will be replaced. A user cannot place a burrow entrance inside its own burrow or inside someone else's burrow. There is a 3 second cooldown between entering and exiting burrows, excluding entering a burrow after its initial placement.
Spite (0.55)
Spite is an active ability that increases a user's next attack damage based on its power meter, which gradually fills once the ability is triggered and then drains to 0 if no creature is attacked by the user during this time. It also has a customizable percentage (%) of the creature's damage (the % listed is the max of said creature's Spite power). Alongside raw damage, the user inflicts double ailments on their targets. The ability has a 20-second cooldown that starts upon activation.
Block Bleed (0.25)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Block Frostbite (0.25)
Frostbite Block/Block Frostbite is a passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting frostbite status from melee attacks at the very least, and every other source at most. It is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 frostbite per hit and the receiver has 60% block frostbite, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 frostbite.
Charge (Power)
Charge is a passive ability that gradually fills an orange "Charge" bar (unique to creatures with this ability) while running. Once completely full, clicking (Lmb on PC or on Mobile or RT on Xbox) will apply special effects on a creature the user is hitting. If the bar is not full, charge effects may be reduced or non-existent. Current Charge types:
Guilt
Guilt/Defensive Guilt is a passive ability that halves the amount of damage taken upon being bitten.
Injury Attack (3.5)
Injury Attack is an ability that offensively deals injury status when biting. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.

Behavior

  • Hebitoa are so sad that they'll just sit or stand in one spot all day, even ignoring creatures that use them as a pillow. They even affect creatures around them, causing them to feel sad and miserable as well. Though they want to spread sadness they often avoid larger creatures and are a prime target for predators as Hebitoa either don't do anything or just straight up run at the predator.
  • Sadness shows itself in many ways and some Hebitoa are extremely aggressive, sometimes chasing creatures for miles.
  • Hebitoa don't just form relationships with other Hebitoa, they can also form friendships with other creatures and this can prevent broken tusks and tears. Friendships can also fix or heal sad Hebitoa.
  • Hebitoa wag their tail when they experience even just a small amount of happiness.
  • Some Hebitoa can work up the courage, after the first rejection, to try and find another partner.
  • There have been rare sightings of strange looking, brightly colored Hebitoa without broken tusks or tears, suspected to be those which were not rejected and successfully found love; though these ones stay hidden away.

Trivia

  • Concept by Xhosha_Onkai in the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. Inspired by sadness, heartbreak, and boars.
  • It is nicknamed "Valentine boar" by players.
  • The Hebitoa's tusks can form a heart shape, but one of the tusks is broken, instead forming a broken heart.
