Abilities

Speed Steal
Speed Steal is an active ability that provides a speed boost to the user while giving 4 stacks of Stolen Speed Status to nearby creatures.
Block Bleed (0.30)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Block Injury (0.40)
Injury Block/Block Injury is a passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting Injury status from melee attacks at the very least. It is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 Injury per hit and the receiver has 60% Injury Block, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 Injury.
Block Poison (0.20)
Block Poison/Poison Block is a passive ability that grants resistance to poison status once they reach max age (100). Like many other block defenses, it works by blocking a percentage of the ailment received. If a creature's Poison Block is 100%, then they are immune to those stats (and will be healed instantly if they are somehow applied) once they reach age 100.
Defensive Bleed (4)
Defensive Bleed is a passive ability where the user defensively inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on their attacker upon being bitten.
Sonic Wings
Sonic Wings is a passive ability that allows the user to idle while flying without consuming or regaining stamina.

Trivia

  • Original concept designed and modeled by NauticaElurra. The original creation of Celeritas' concept was prompted by Erythia to create a kaiju flier creature. Celeritas' name may come from the word 'celerity', meaning 'swiftness of movement'. Similarly, the word “celeritas” translates to ‘speed’ or ‘swiftness’ in Latin.
  • First redesign by Snicker_DoodIes on the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. The redesign was inspired by rocks (the concept creator thinks so, at least), somewhat inspired by sandstones, and was mainly going for a mesa look. Redesign modeled by East. Redesign animated by Twilight.
  • Second redesign by Austroraptors.
  • It is the second Tier 5 flier, the first being Sar'Hingaro.
  • It is often nicknamed "Cele", "Celery", or "Celery bird" by players.
  • It was planned to have a Wind Gust ability, but it proved too difficult for the developers to create, and there wasn't enough time to code it before release. Wind Gust was an ability planned to push away creatures along with dealing damage.
  • The Celeritas was originally supposed to have the Wall Cling ability in Legacy, but due to time management, the animation couldn't be made, thus scrapping the ability.
