Appearance

Hisolidium is a bipedal, feathery, theropod creature that appears to be covered in large petals. These petal-like growths sprout from the creature's head, shoulders, and most notably, its tail, which is short and resembles that of a chicken. From these petals extend eight flower stamens, protruding from its head and tail in groups of four. The tips of these stamens glow and emit a faint particle effect. Hisolidium has additional feathering on its elbows and throat, which does not resemble flower petals, and there is a prominent feathery crest that runs down between the petals on its head. Its arms seem to end in a single digit, featuring one large, sickle-like claw similar to those of Alvarezsaurus. Instead of teeth, its upper jaw appears to feature a "beak" from which protrude six tooth-like plates, which jut from the creature's mouth when closed. Its bottom jaw possesses shorter, regular teeth. There are four glowing pit organs on Hisolidium's face that resemble eyes.

Parts of Hisolidium's body, most notably its thighs, are covered in a thick stripe patterning. A small number of scales can be seen on the ends of all of its limbs, most notably its legs where they align in rows of three. There are several small glowing markings on its body, both at the base of its petals, and in long rows on its neck and sides. By default, Hisolidium is colored mauve, purple, pink, and white. It has a posture similar to the basal therizinosaur Falcarius.

Abilities

Speed Blitz
Speed Blitz is an active ability that will consume half of the user's stamina bar if it is above 50% and apply 6 stacks (18 seconds) of the Speed Blitz Status. It has a 90 second cooldown.
Bleed Attack (5.5)
Bleed Attack is a passive ability, where the user inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on a creature with every bite, excluding with breath/ranged abilities or reflecting abilities. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Block Bleed (0.20)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Charge (Gore)
Charge is a passive ability that gradually fills an orange "Charge" bar (unique to creatures with this ability) while running. Once completely full, clicking (Lmb on PC or on Mobile or RT on Xbox) will apply special effects on a creature the user is hitting. If the bar is not full, charge effects may be reduced or non-existent. Current Charge types:
Iron Stomach
Iron Stomach is a passive ability that allows the user to eat rotten meat without getting negative ailments from it--preventing them from getting the Sickly Status.
Serrated Teeth
Serrated Teeth is a passive ability that offensively inflicts Deep Wounds status when biting.
Wing Shredder (1)
Wing Shredder is a passive ability that allows the user to offensively deal the Shredded Wings status to a creature they bite..

Behavior

  • Hisolidium do courtship dances.
  • When feeling affectionate, Hisolidium coo like doves.
  • Hisolidium 'eyes' are in fact not eyes, but pit organs similar to those on snakes.
  • Hisolidiums smell sweet, like a flower.

Trivia

  • Concept by Kyzenith/Kyzuha on the CoS Discord. Hisolidium is inspired by "sunsets, hibiscus, scorpions (claws) and Utahraptor (overall head and ‘feathered’ appearance)." "Its appearance is similar to that of a therizinosaur, but having large, heavy ‘petals’ in the place of its tail, and was intended to walk like an ostrich." - Quoted by concept creator Kyzenith. Hisolidium's design originally had a long tail, and were planned to be slightly venomous, usually to stun prey but not to entirely kill them.
  • The Hisolidium is one of the first two ever released Summer event creatures, the other being Rorolo.
  • In Legacy, Hisolidium has light violet blood. Due to this, when dying, the Hisolidium drops a purple carcass in the Legacy version. In real life, the change in color is caused by hemerythrin, a respiratory pigment of a purplish/violet color once oxygenated, replacing hemoglobin in several invertebrates.
  • In Recode, it has red blood instead of light violet.
  • For a small time when Hisolidium released, it could be obtained from the legacy Photovore Explorer Gacha before getting restricted to the event missions, along with Rorolo.
