Abilities

Spite (0.05)
Spite is an active ability that increases a user's next attack damage based on its power meter, which gradually fills once the ability is triggered and then drains to 0 if no creature is attacked by the user during this time. It also has a customizable percentage (%) of the creature's damage (the % listed is the max of said creature's Spite power). Alongside raw damage, the user inflicts double ailments on their targets. The ability has a 20-second cooldown that starts upon activation.
Agile Swimmer
Agile Swimmer is a passive ability that causes the player to receive the following buffs when submerged underwater for more than a second: 100% more stamina regeneration 50% more total stamina 75% more walk speed 75% more sprint speed A % increase in oxygen (oxygen increase percentage is based off the amount of oxygen the creature originally has) Additionally, a glider semi-aquatic (and an aqua-glider) can abuse the extra stamina to increase the number of glide flaps it can perform from the water boosted. Until they touch the ground or stop gliding, the boosted stamina amount will remain.
Charge (Gore)
Charge is a passive ability that gradually fills an orange "Charge" bar (unique to creatures with this ability) while running. Once completely full, clicking (Lmb on PC or on Mobile or RT on Xbox) will apply special effects on a creature the user is hitting. If the bar is not full, charge effects may be reduced or non-existent. Current Charge types:
Iron Stomach
Iron Stomach is a passive ability that allows the user to eat rotten meat without getting negative ailments from it--preventing them from getting the Sickly Status.
Poison Attack (4.5)
Poison Attack is a passive ability that makes the user deal Poison Status to another creature upon biting them. It stacks with itself. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Wing Shredder (1)
Wing Shredder is a passive ability that allows the user to offensively deal the Shredded Wings status to a creature they bite..

Behavior

  • When underwater, Lures produce two kinds of light: one which only other Lures can see, and one that prey can see. While hunting underwater, Lures will use their tail lights to communicate with one another.
  • Lures with the brightest glows are viewed as the strongest due to the blinding threat displays they are capable of.
  • Lures have sturdy necks and heads, and will ram into more aggressive prey to incapacitate them.

Trivia

  • Original concept by Artistep on the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. The Lure "took about a week to make up because I was super clumsy about what body shape or head i could give." (Quoted by concept creator Artistep) The Lure's name may be a reference to how some marine predators, especially those deeper down in the ocean, use bioluminescent parts to attract and assist in hunting prey. Examples include the anglerfish and the Stauroteuthis Syrtensis octopus.
  • Redesign concept by Shugalio_333. Lure's redesign was inspired by glowsticks, deep sea creatures, and the original Lure design.
  • Original model by Erythia.
  • The Lure has light blue blood in legacy mode. Nowadays it's blood is red. Additionally, if killed, the Lure drops a light blue carcass in Legacy. This is an actual color in some Earth creatures, from those that use hemocyanin, a blue oxygen carrier that replaces hemoglobin in some invertebrate's blood; albeit not on this shade. However, it is more likely the color has been done as a way to explain its overall blue bioluminescence.
  • In the customization menu there used to be a glitch that allowed players to color their Lure yellow as well as pink, but this was eventually patched.
  • Its description says it can eat spoiled meat, but currently in the game it will take damage if it does, since even after Iron Stomach was added, that only removed the chances of getting the sickness ailment.
  • There is a UGC item based off of Lure called the Lure Sword, which was on sale for 125 Robux. Made by TamBrush. [This item is currently offsale.]
  • All of the Lure's calls sound robotic, and some may say its spots seem robotic.
  • Lure was one of the most popular creatures during the game's beta.
  • The Lure is sometimes referred to by players as 'lizard' or 'protogen lizard'.
  • The Lure is one of 5 creatures to have had its redesign decided on by the community via a public poll.
