Appearance

The Haechionx resembles a beetle and a bee mixed together with an amber-like throat, under-abdomen and wing webbing. The rest of its body is an armored dull turquoise-grey color, with slits/stripes of the same amber color throughout its body. It has a single turquoise horn on top of its head, which presents three eyes per side. It also has an amber antennae-like object dropping from its jaws, as well as a turquoise antennae-like object with amber decorations on top on each side. The front 2 legs of the 6 legs it has formed an arm-like shape, lifted up and shorter, unlike the other 4 which are sturdy and strong for walking. Its wings present a dull turquoise color with amber webbing. The abdomen has a turquoise-grey top and amber underside, which present a pair of amber decorations like dropping honey. At the tip of the abdomen is a darker turquoise stinger.

Abilities

Area Food Restore
Area Food Restore is a ranged active ability with a cooldown of 600 seconds. It refreshes food sources (and stomachs) in range. It does not work on eggs from inside a nest.
Sticky Trap
Sticky Trap is an active ability that allows the user to drop a trap which will cause those ensnared to receive the Sticky Trap Status and 4 seconds of Broken Legs Status. It has a 75-second cooldown. Multiple sticky traps can be placed by the same user, but if two sticky traps of the same user are too close from each another, the oldest one will disappear. If more than 2 sticky traps are placed at one time, the oldest one will eventually despawn. Sticky traps can be destroyed if they receive enough hits.
Block Bleed (0.4)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Block Burn (0.4)
Burn Block/Block Burn is a passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting burn status from melee attacks. It is percentage based. For example, if an attacker deals 5 burn per hit and the receiver has 60% block burn, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 burn. If a creature's block burn is 100%, then they are immune to Burn inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. A negative value may indicate that the creature is vulnerable to burn effects.
Burn Attack (1)
Burn Attack is an ability that offensively deals burn when biting. Stacks with itself. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Charge (Launch)
Charge is a passive ability that gradually fills an orange "Charge" bar (unique to creatures with this ability) while running. Once completely full, clicking (Lmb on PC or on Mobile or RT on Xbox) will apply special effects on a creature the user is hitting. If the bar is not full, charge effects may be reduced or non-existent. Current Charge types:
Defensive Burn (2)
Burn touch/Defensive burn is an ability that deals burn to the opposing creature when being bitten. Stacks with itself.
Pack Healer
Pack Healer is a pack-oriented passive ability. This passive ability allows the user to boost the HP regen of their fellow packmates.
Sticky Fur
Sticky Fur is a passive ability that inflicts the Sticky Teeth Status to the attacker when bitten.

Behavior

  • Haechionx are gentle creatures that prefer to make friends and are against the idea of fighting others. The only time they fight is when their friends are in danger.
  • Haechionx like to spend their days in volcanoes to take warm naps, and other days they'll eat tree sap, or honey from the hives of Beezu if resources are low.
  • Haechionx like to hang around with Beezu and aid in the production of honey. The honey sap created by Haechionx has a spicy taste which is irritating and makes predators gag.
  • Haechionx mainly hunt in areas like the redwoods, flower cove, and the outside of the volcano at early morning.

Trivia

  • Concept by YY_XX & Cywsxs in the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. Inspired by Hercules beetles and honeypot ants. Giraffes were also what inspired the body and long neck.
  • Haechionx was unintentionally released with the Life Leech ability alongside its intended Food Restore. Because of this, when a player using Haechionx used the active ability key (Q on PC or > Actions > Use ability), both abilities would attempt to activate at once. Life Leech was removed from Haechionx the following day.
