Appearance

The Venatrox is a wyvern-like creature with two legs and 4 wings. Its lower jaw is split in two, and contains many sharp teeth, which become larger towards the front of the head. Its head bears 3 eyes on each side as well as bright green fangs, and a large protruding crest extending from the back of the head. It possesses gills on its neck, underbelly, wings. The venatrox comes equipped with ridges running down its back, to the end of the tail. The Venatrox is stocky and well built, with a muscular appearance. Its chest is quite large and features a ridge-like protrusion. The tail is draped in some kind of skin flaps, which share similarities to its wing webbings. Venatrox has four wings, each exactly the same in size, and shape. The wing's fingers all end in bright green claws, and are connected by webbing.

Abilities

Block Bleed (0.40)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Block Burn (-0.30)
Burn Block/Block Burn is a passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting burn status from melee attacks. It is percentage based. For example, if an attacker deals 5 burn per hit and the receiver has 60% block burn, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 burn. If a creature's block burn is 100%, then they are immune to Burn inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. A negative value may indicate that the creature is vulnerable to burn effects.
Block Poison (0.60)
Block Poison/Poison Block is a passive ability that grants resistance to poison status once they reach max age (100). Like many other block defenses, it works by blocking a percentage of the ailment received. If a creature's Poison Block is 100%, then they are immune to those stats (and will be healed instantly if they are somehow applied) once they reach age 100.
Climber
Climber is a passive ability that allows the user to walk on walls and ceilings. To detach from a wall, press the Space on PC. On Mobile, press the dedicated Detach button, or, if the creature has Jump, press the jump button.
Corrosion Attack (2)
Corrosion Attack/Corrosion Bite is an ability that offensively deals Corrosion when biting. It stacks with itself. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Defensive Corrosion (1.5)
Defensive Corrosion/Corrosive Body is an ability that defensively deals Corrosion Status when bitten. Stacks with itself.
First Strike (0.25)
First Strike is a passive ability that grants the user increased damage while they are above 75% health. The damage increase is depends on the creature and is reflected in its stat menu.
Iron Stomach
Iron Stomach is a passive ability that allows the user to eat rotten meat without getting negative ailments from it--preventing them from getting the Sickly Status.

Trivia

  • Designed by Akurle on the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. The concept creator of the original Venatrox doesn't exactly remember every detail of inspiration for Venatrox, but Akurle says "I really liked the design for the jaws of the Radidon in Dragon Adventures, and I think I also took some inspo from xenomorph and various other alien concept designs and insects. I wanted it to like very alien and otherworldly, the the wing claws were also originally meant to look like spider or insect legs. The openings in its skin along its neck and stomach were also meant to be breathed through as well if I remember correctly" (Quoted by concept creator Akurle). The Venatrox was originally meant to be a dragon submission for Dragon Adventures, but since it didn't get accepted, it had a design adjustment and was resubmitted to CoS instead.
  • The initial redesign for this creature is by Xhosa_Onkai on the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. The Venatrox redesign was based off of the original Venatrox design.
  • Modeled by PlagaeDoctor.
  • Confirmed by NauticaElurra on the Creatures of Sonaria Discord to have a new breath called "Acid Breath".
  • Released alongside Vetemortem and Kendyll's remodel, and so its animations were heavily rushed.
  • The second redesign is by Austroraptors.
  • Second redesign modeled by MidnightAJC8308.
  • Second redesign rigged by ThunderBoo666.
  • Second redesign animated by Minisode1_BlueHour.
  • It is one of the few creatures to have a second redesign.
  • Legacy Venatrox is, from the creatures which can currently stay still on lava without damage, both the only one which can do so by using submissive animation or sleeping (albeit Vin'rou can do the sleep one too), and the only one which can do that only with those animations, not in default idle animation.
  • Many players stated that Venatrox was related to the Sar'Hingaro, however they are not at all related, in fact Venatrox didn't come from Daimona.
  • Initially part of the Session Gacha, Venatrox was removed from its original gacha with the release of Gurava, another Session creature, on November 18th, 2022.
