Appearance
Aesmir, a fantasy creature inspired by humpback whales, lava, stars, and their reflections in water, appears like a golden, armor-like Mysticeti cetacean. Its spine ridges split into two rows to the sides of its body and aim upwards. It contains various star patterns and motifs over its body. On its head is a melted horn, and some parts of its body are translucent. Unlike cetaceans, Aesmir has three dorsal fins of floating crystals, three pairs of pectoral flippers, and two pairs of near-caudal flippers near its main propelling fin. Its face and some parts of its body are dark dull-grey, contrasting with the majority of its body, which presents cool and bright colors.
**Males**: Males have three floating melted-like horns on top of their cranium, behind their main frontal horn.

Abilities
Behavior
- Aesmir can sometimes be found floating belly-up on the surface of water during the day. The reason for this is unknown, but they don't seem injured and usually dive back down after a short period of time.
- During meteor showers, Aesmirs have been known to gather in large groups where they spin and play together until the event ends. Afterward, they disperse.
- Aesmir are very emotional creatures that vocalize their feelings. Most of Aesmir's calls are cries; their normal calls are far too deep to be heard by most creatures.
Lore (non-canon)
- Aesmir can't actually reproduce. New Aesmir are made from the reflection of the stars on the water.
- Aesmir turns red when they're upset.
- Aesmir seemingly disappear during red moons and solar eclipses.
- Aesmirs can lose their stars if they stray from their group for too long, most likely due to the stress and fear of being vulnerable.
Trivia
- Concept by heyitsXhosa in the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. Inspired by shooting stars, galaxies, lava lamps, the reflection of stars on the water, and humpback whales. The name was inspired by the Æsir.
- Modeled by East.
- Rigged by Wolfragon.
- Aesmir has dark grey-blue blood. When killed, the Aesmir previously dropped a dark blue carcass with yellowish-cream-colored bones in Legacy. Blue-gray is an actual blood color in some Earth creatures that use hemocyanin, although it is not the same shade shown in-game.
