Appearance

The Boskurro is a quadrupedal creature that has a forward-leaning body, shifting its weight onto two incredibly thick, widely spread armored forearms that are used to spread its weight around like snowshoes and hold up a long neck adorned with large and pointed, petal-shaped spiked plates of armor leading up to a small face with beady eyes and a unique crest shaping the chin and extending upwards atop its snout with two tusk-like teeth on either side of its head. Its back legs are significantly smaller, and further down, it has a row on top and below the tail comprised of dull yet large spikes. Around the tail, front and back legs, and head are green-colored floating orbs. It consists of light and dark blue-greens and light and dark browns. Its jaw consists of outwards-facing teeth, as well as a long, thin, flat dark-bluish green tongue and tipped beak to support its omnivorous diet.

Abilities

Earthquake
Earthquake is an ability that emits a cartoonish smoke-blast that inflicts the Injury aliment on all nearby creatures. The default Injury gain is 50 stacks; however, the amount of Injury gained can be reduced based off of the percentage of Injury block the creature has.
Mud Pile
Mud Pile is an active ability that allows the user to place a mud pile that lasts for 60 seconds. Creatures can wallow in the mud to gain healing Muddy status and unscentable status for 90 seconds.
Bleed Attack (1)
Bleed Attack is a passive ability, where the user inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on a creature with every bite, excluding with breath/ranged abilities or reflecting abilities. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Block Bleed (0.6)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Block Injury (0.5)
Injury Block/Block Injury is a passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting Injury status from melee attacks at the very least. It is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 Injury per hit and the receiver has 60% Injury Block, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 Injury.
Block Poison (0.35)
Block Poison/Poison Block is a passive ability that grants resistance to poison status once they reach max age (100). Like many other block defenses, it works by blocking a percentage of the ailment received. If a creature's Poison Block is 100%, then they are immune to those stats (and will be healed instantly if they are somehow applied) once they reach age 100.
Charge (Crush)
Charge is a passive ability that gradually fills an orange "Charge" bar (unique to creatures with this ability) while running. Once completely full, clicking (Lmb on PC or on Mobile or RT on Xbox) will apply special effects on a creature the user is hitting. If the bar is not full, charge effects may be reduced or non-existent. Current Charge types:
Climber
Climber is a passive ability that allows the user to walk on walls and ceilings. To detach from a wall, press the Space on PC. On Mobile, press the dedicated Detach button, or, if the creature has Jump, press the jump button.
Defensive Bleed (1)
Defensive Bleed is a passive ability where the user defensively inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on their attacker upon being bitten.
Defensive Injury (1)
Injury touch/Defensive Injury is an ability that defensively deals injury status when bitten.
Hunker (50)
Hunker is a passive ability that activates when a user with this ability strafes. While active, hunker reduces the creature's speed by 25%, damage by 50%, and reduces damage taken by a percentage based on what is listed for the creature. For example, a creature with 75 hunker will only receive 25% of damage while the ability is active.
Injury Attack (1.5)
Injury Attack is an ability that offensively deals injury status when biting. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Iron Stomach
Iron Stomach is a passive ability that allows the user to eat rotten meat without getting negative ailments from it--preventing them from getting the Sickly Status.
Wing Shredder (2)
Wing Shredder is a passive ability that allows the user to offensively deal the Shredded Wings status to a creature they bite..

Behavior

  • Boskurro lay eggs.
  • Boskurro are subspecies of Equenix, adapted to live in forests rather than bodies of water.

Trivia

  • Designed by Xhosa_Onkai in the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. Inspired by koalas. The name Boskurro may have taken inspiration from the Spanish word "bosque", which, when translated to English, means forest. This would certainly explain the tree dweller theme present in the Boskurro's description.
  • Rigged by Wolfragon.
  • Animated by BlckBrryJm and Rook.
  • Redesign concept by MacRenee.
  • Redesign modeled by nekcihc and rigged by Mezzioli.
  • Redesign animated by Myrrethines and Rook (mishazhirov).
  • Before release, its description was stated to be a herbivore, despite its description in the tester world. This was later fixed upon release.
  • Boskurro's call sounds were made from heavily modified koala sounds.
