Appearance

Yenyashas are quadrupedal sheep-like creatures. Fluffy clouds span across the creature, from its fleecy legs to its wavy tail. These creatures have a thin, purple cloth that is dressed over their hind legs to the end of their torso and over their neck. They have wavy blue hair that covers their eyes and cloud-covered antennae. Yenyashas have patterns all over their body structure, including their clouds. Light blue markings and growths on their cheeks resemble dripping tears.

Abilities

Area Water Restore
Area Water Restore is a ranged active ability that has a cooldown of 600 seconds. It refreshes part of any in-range drinkable water sources' quality.
Burrower (3)
Burrower is an active ability that allows the user to place up to 4 (or a specific creature limit) burrows anywhere on the map and use burrows created by other players. If a user places more entrances than the maximum allowed, the oldest burrow and exit will be replaced. A user cannot place a burrow entrance inside its own burrow or inside someone else's burrow. There is a 3 second cooldown between entering and exiting burrows, excluding entering a burrow after its initial placement.
Change Weather
Change Weather is an active ability that forces any current weather to change to a new type, including Thunderstorms. If a natural disaster is already happening, the ability cannot be activated. It can also "appear" to change the day/night cycle (in fact, it really doesn't) if it happens to be night and the ability triggers sunny weather. The ability cannot change a weather immediately after another Change Weather invocation. It can only be used by creatures with age 67 or higher and has a 600 second (10 minute) cooldown.
Agile Swimmer
Agile Swimmer is a passive ability that causes the player to receive the following buffs when submerged underwater for more than a second: 100% more stamina regeneration 50% more total stamina 75% more walk speed 75% more sprint speed A % increase in oxygen (oxygen increase percentage is based off the amount of oxygen the creature originally has) Additionally, a glider semi-aquatic (and an aqua-glider) can abuse the extra stamina to increase the number of glide flaps it can perform from the water boosted. Until they touch the ground or stop gliding, the boosted stamina amount will remain.
Soft Landing (0.92)
Soft Landing is a passive ability that allows the user to fall more slowly, depending on each creature's specific stat number. It works when walking off cliffs/falling, detaching, darting, or jumping. It is cancellable by pressing (Space on PC or or B on Xbox).

Behavior

  • During clear nights with full moons, Yenyashas like to gather under the moonlight and gaze upon it. Typically, this happens near shores where the tides have risen.
  • Yenyashas tend to have severe paranoia.
  • Very rarely do they have the confidence to have contact with the other creatures.
  • The most common cause of death for Yenyashas is being caught whilst hiding or getting so depressed when there's no rain it dies.
  • Yenyashas do indeed have eyes, but they are obscured most of the time.
  • The jewels on a Yenyasha's antennae are real minerals that they find during their journey of growing up.
  • It is said that the cloudy fur of a Yenyasha is so soft and light that touching it feels like dipping your hand into cool water.

Trivia

  • Concept by LammieLord. The Yenyasha was inspired by clouds, diamonds, sapphires, lambs, and French lace.
  • Modeled by East.
  • It is the second creature to have the Weather Change ability, the first being Kyiki.
  • It is the first creature to have sky-blue blood. This is an actual color in some Earth creatures, from those that use hemocyanin, a blue oxygen carrier that replaces hemoglobin in some invertebrate's blood, though not this light of a shade. In fact, it looks more similar to that of the Antarctic icefish, which has white/transparent blood due to the complete lack of oxygen carriers, the plasma and the white cells being the ones coloring its blood.
  • Players may sometimes call the Yenyasha 'Cloud Sheep' or 'Rain Sheep'.
  • Yenyasha doesn't leave any footprints or footsteps.
