Appearance
The Dowatt is a quadrupedal, robotic and rodent-like creature with a design themed around electricity and futurism. It has armor plates covering its spine, which runs down the creature's back and ends in a long, segmented tail reminiscent of a power plug. Two pairs of black and yellow wires connect the creature's head with its back armor, and another goes from the lower jaw to the throat. It's neck sports a yellow lightning shape. Dowatt's head is narrow and wedge shaped, and it's covered with a dark glasslike helmet that has two yellow markings on the sides. It has long, pointy black tipped ears, and rodent teeth. The creature's body, neck, ears and upper half of the legs are covered in fur, featuring light brown and white patterns in the shape of lightnings. Meanwhile, the belly, tail, spine, head and lower half of the legs show the artificial nature of its design, with a color palette that clearly separates these areas from the furred parts, presenting three tones of dark blueish grey and yellow.
**Males**: Male Dowatts sport three antennas cresting their neck.

Abilities
Behavior
- Dowatt are non-sentient machines tasked with surveillance and exploration mission. They have no self-awareness as a species, and lack an individual "mind". It's likely that their AI systems were truncated to not achieve any of these on its own. It's doubtful whether they can be considered true life forms or not, instead being labeled as working tools.
- Dowatt's internal supercomputer can easily perform any of the tasks that your regular computer can.
- Dowatt bases are located underground where they should be safe from sonarian wildlife.
- All Dowatt are connected to each other in an extensive network, used to receive orders and code; like they were controlled by a central command unit.
- Dowatt can use their antennae to transfer and receive data.
- Dowatt are programmed to avoid interaction with sonarian wildlife, partly because of their external circuits which would carry enough current and voltage to be dangerous to humans standing nearby. These external circuits are also used to protect them from potential predators. An excessive amount of extra energy being inflicted into the Dowatt's circuits, such as a lightning striking it, could overload them and burn the Dowatt to "death". Some creatures with lightning breath enjoy burning Dowatts for fun.
- Dowatt are quite resistant to regular humidity common from travelling through natural terrain and can resist casual droplets of water, on their rods and wires just fine. As long as the water isn't above their legs, they should be fine. However they are extremely vulnerable to great amounts of water, and stay away from it at all costs.
Lore (non-canon)
- Dowatt are non-sentient machines sent to the sonarian Orb with the task of surveillance and exploration.
- The origin of their creators, known as "The Civilisation", remains a complete mystery. In fact, most sonarians aren't aware of the Civilisation's existence. They watch the Orb from afar, staying neutral towards anything that happens in it, but they seem to have genuine interest in the Orb's life forms.
- The Civilisation built the Dowatt's bases underground, where they're safe from sonarian wildlife. These bases are comprised of large geofronts, tunnel systems and smaller outposts all over the Orb.
- Dowatt arrived to the Orb inside small almond-shaped capsules. A large space mother-ship known as the Orbit was the Civilisation's "passageway" to the Orb. The Orbit dropped these capsules from the higher layers of the atmosphere, and after a hypersonic journey they'd crash into the ground, opening their gate to let the Dowatt start its mission. In the event of a capsule falling on water, the gate would not open, and the Dowatt inside would be abandoned and disconnected from the System. The System is the Civilisation's collective consciousness. All machinery is connected in an extense network. The Civilisation sends orders and code through this system.
- Dowatt are equipped with high-resolution rotating cameras inside their helmets. They're incredibly sophisticated data processing machines, interconnected through the nine "communication rods"/antennae on their back to a network all over the Orb. Using these rods they can transfer and receive data from the Orbit mother-ship in real time, 24/7.
- Dowatt aren't sentient; they have no self-awareness as a species, and lack an individual "mind". It's likely that their AI systems were truncated to not achieve any of these on its own. It's doubtful whether they can be considered true life forms or not, instead being labeled as working tools.
- Dowatt's electric circuits are akin to nervous and circulatory systems. They distribute power and data across its body, muscles, and computer systems. Electric power is especially concentrated on the external areas of the electric circuit: the exposed spine, the neck wiring, and the antennas. The energy they carry is so high that to a human, even standing near them is dangerous. Dowatts are programmed to avoid interaction with sonarian wildlife, but their external circuits protect them from potential predators. An excessive amount of extra energy being inflicted into the Dowatt's circuits, such as a lightning striking it, can overload them and burn the Dowatt to "death". Some creatures with lightning breath enjoy burning Dowatts for fun.
- Dowatt are quite resistant to humidity, they need to be in order to traverse through natural terrain. As long as the water isn't above their legs, they're fine. They can enable some kind of "safe mode" on their external circuitry to protect them from casual droplets of water, on their rods and wires, but they absolutely cannot take a dip in a lake. They'd explode. Literally. Thus, they are extremely vulnerable to great amounts of water and stay away from it at all costs.
- Because Dowatt's internal supercomputer can easily perform any of the tasks that your regular computer can, in the hypothetical case of a sapient creature, like you, learning to modify the purpose of a Dowatt's computer, they would, hypothetically, be capable of running Creatures of Sonaria inside of Sonaria.
Trivia
- Concept by SkyAero97 in the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. Inspired by Pikachu from Pokémon, rats, sugar gliders, robots/mecha, and electric circuits. Dowatt's name is a portmanteau of the words "download" and "watt".
- Dowatt is the smallest Developer Creature in the game. It was originally Ani that was the smallest before its change to an Ex-Developer Creature.
