Appearance
Ghibli is a sleek flying creature with a mechanical, aircraft-like appearance. It has two long and narrow segmented wings, in the middle of which there are two-clawed structures; the wings end in three short wing-tips. It has two engines mounted on its back. Near the base of the tail, the Ghibli sports twin ruddervators arranged in a V-shape, thin and triangular in form. Its tail features two more groups of fins, the first being a pair of short horizontal stabilisers; and lastly, on the very end, a full empennage of three fins, the vertical featuring a green decal. This creature has six uniquely shaped robotic legs, the middle pair being considerably thicker than the rest, and also being the only with two fingers instead of four. The legs are partially covered by a protruding rim. A pattern of green rectangles, resembling passenger aircraft windows, runs through the side of its body, beginning on the neck and ending somewhere around the start of the tail. Ghibli's head is similar to that of a shark's. It flaunts an iconic sharp-toothed grin reminiscent of fighter aircraft livery. The creature has three eyes, the third being significantly bigger and covering most of its forehead. It also has three pairs of mechanical "ears" on the sides of its head. The Ghibli's color palette consists of muted earthy tones, from chocolate brown to light sand, and some highlights of pistachio green.

Trivia
- Original concept by Snicker_DoodIes in the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. The Ghibli was based off of king cobras and planes. The name is a reference to Studio Ghibli, a Japan-based animating company that has made numerous highly acclaimed films, including the 1988 film My Neighbor Totoro and the 2001 film Spirited Away. It also refers to the aircraft that served as inspiration for the studio's name: the Italian aircraft Caproni Ca.309, AKA Ghibli. Ghibli (sometimes spelled Qibli or Kirbli)(pronounced kee-blee) is an Italian/Libyan-Arabic word meaning "hot desert wind". Hayao Miyazaki, Studio Ghibli's creator and director for most films, has a liking to flying machines and creatures too, shown by the amount of flying creatures and machines in his films. Ghibli's secondary palette was inspired by the US Navy's performing flight team, the Blue Angels, and is the featured paint-scheme on their F/A-18s and "Fat Albert" the C-130.
- Redesign concept by Zayozaze in the Creatures of Sonaria Discord.
- Redesign rigged by Mezzioli
- Previous version modeled by malarkeii.
- Redesign modeled by Azaph.

- The first creature to receive the Area Sleep ability. However, this ability no longer exists, and has been replaced with Drowsy Area.
- The second developer creature with the Night Stalker ability, the first being the now ex-developer creature Trutholbyeva.
- The third developer creature released in-game.
- Ghibli was chosen as malarkeii's developer creature because she has an affinity for desert-dwelling creatures and tones, as well as aircrafts. Ghibli's tail features the typical control surfaces of a plane's tail (rudder, elevator/stabilator, etc.).
- Ghibli formerly did not have a visible Glimmer variant, but this was fixed on 5/22/2022.
- One of the old redesigns for Ghibli became its own standalone creature, now known as Nakamaska.
- Ghibli's current updated calls contain real sounds from planes, specifically Italian planes, as Ghibli is in fact partly inspired by an Italian plane.
