Appearance

The Kohikii resembles a mix between a bobbit-worm, the spotfin lionfish, and some horror movie worms. There is one pair of bobbit-worm-like pincers by its extended terminal mouth, two antenna-like appendages on top of its head and several shorter antenna appendages stemming from the bottom of its maxilar. It presents a body with a triple dorsal fin (with the first dorsal fin being the biggest, and the two others being slightly rounded and looking like a gear, with the second dorsal fin being connected to lateral-line protrusion folds), two huge pectoral fins stemming almost from the sides of the mouth, two smaller pelvic fins, an spiny anal fin aligned and symmetrical with the third dorsal fin, and on the distal part of the tail, small finlet-like protrusions and a 3-finned homocercal caudal vertical tail (with the first lower and upper fin pair being reduced to spiny rays, and the second fin pair being more open than the final, third caudal tail). Some bioluminescent diamond and plate-like details cover their bodies.

Abilities

Grab
Grab is an active ability that allows the user to pick up a lower-tiered creature. Grabbed creatures cannot escape for 5 seconds. After that, the grabbed creature can struggle by pressing any button and will be released from the grab. The user can ungrab at any moment by pressing the same button used to grab. A creature darting from outside water will grab any creature it finds automatically.
Bleed Attack (4)
Bleed Attack is a passive ability, where the user inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on a creature with every bite, excluding with breath/ranged abilities or reflecting abilities. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Block Bleed (0.25)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Block Frostbite (0.25)
Frostbite Block/Block Frostbite is a passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting frostbite status from melee attacks at the very least, and every other source at most. It is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 frostbite per hit and the receiver has 60% block frostbite, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 frostbite.

Injury Attack is an ability that offensively deals injury status when biting. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.

Behavior

  • The Kohikii is likely to be pretty aggressive as parents, hunting violently to feed their young.
  • Kohikii usually have 1-2 babies at a time.
  • Kohikii are quick attackers and a speedy killer.
  • The Kohikii is capable of taking hits - though usually will have killed its enemy before the enemy has had a chance to kill them.

  • Concept by Monstergurl22 in the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. The Kohikii was inspired by goblin sharks and bobbit worms.
  • Previously, Kohikii was in the 50 hour Time Gacha, being replaced by Zwevealisk upon its release.
  • The Kohikii, on release, was accidentally set as Herbivore and lacking its Serrated Teeth ability, while it was stated by Naut to be a carnivore. A soft-patch after the initial update fixed the diet and ability issue.
