Appearance

The Lerachu is a tall quadruped creature that resembles a leek, and takes a knuckle-walking stance. It has a slender body, accompanied by a lengthy neck. Several leaves frame the Lerachu's long snout, face and legs, highlighting its classification as a photovore. Horizontal markings cross the creature's back, leading down its figure to its short, frilled tail. Upon its feet, defensive claws can be seen. The Lerachu has two pairs of eyes and leafy protrusions sprouting from its head. Its forelegs appear to have rigid growths for protection, and it has armor-plating lining its spine.

Abilities

Harden
Harden is an active ability which decreases movement speed by 20% in trade of a 35% increase in weight and 25% increase in health regeneration. Does not affect turning rate or turning speed.
Block Burn (-0.10)
Burn Block/Block Burn is a passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting burn status from melee attacks. It is percentage based. For example, if an attacker deals 5 burn per hit and the receiver has 60% block burn, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 burn. If a creature's block burn is 100%, then they are immune to Burn inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. A negative value may indicate that the creature is vulnerable to burn effects.
Block Frostbite (0.25)
Frostbite Block/Block Frostbite is a passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting frostbite status from melee attacks at the very least, and every other source at most. It is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 frostbite per hit and the receiver has 60% block frostbite, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 frostbite.
Block Injury (0.35)
Injury Block/Block Injury is a passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting Injury status from melee attacks at the very least. It is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 Injury per hit and the receiver has 60% Injury Block, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 Injury.
Charge (Crush)
Charge is a passive ability that gradually fills an orange "Charge" bar (unique to creatures with this ability) while running. Once completely full, clicking (Lmb on PC or on Mobile or RT on Xbox) will apply special effects on a creature the user is hitting. If the bar is not full, charge effects may be reduced or non-existent. Current Charge types:
Defensive Poison (1)
Defensive Poison/Melee Toxin is a passive ability that makes the user deal Poison Status to an attacker upon being attacked. Stacks with itself.
Injury Attack (4)
Injury Attack is an ability that offensively deals injury status when biting. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Strength In Numbers
Strength In Numbers is a passive ability that gives the user a 7% stamina regeneration boost and a 1.5% damage boost. It stacks according to how many creatures with the same ability and species are nearby. If there are no other users with this ability nearby, it will not provide the boost.

Lore (non-canon)

  • According to lore (and CatboyNathann), the Lerachu and Yama'tu are closely related, stemming from a common ancestor which evolved into these species.

Trivia

  • Concept by Shugalio_333 on the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. As seen in its concept art, the Lerachu was inspired by leeks.
  • Modeled by Erythia.
  • Redesign concept by Undeary.
  • Redesign modeled by JaxonBirb.
  • Redesign rigged by Mezzioli.
  • On Legacy, the Lerachu has green turquoise blood. Due to this, when killed, the Lerachu drops a green turquoise carcass. This is an actual color in some Earth creatures, from those that use hemocyanin, a blue oxygen carrier that replaces hemoglobin in some invertebrate's blood; albeit not on this shade, or chlorocruorin, a green oxygen carrier that replaces haemoglobin in other invertebrates; and in some vertebrates (like some green tree skinks) that have adapted to carry lethal amounts of biliverdin in their blood, a toxic byproduct of heme catabolism, whose only good side is that it has anti-mutagenic properties. However it is more likely the colour has been done as a variant of sap.
  • Alongside the other photovores and photocarnivores, Lerachu was moved to the Photovore Exploration Gacha upon its release.
