Appearance

The Lissiceous is a quadrupedal, bioluminescent creature consisting of a dark palette with bluish purple, lilac, yellow and orange markings. Its body sports many fins appearing similar to kelp or seaweed. It also possesses a thick tail that begins at its waist, somewhat resembling that of an axolotl's or modern eels, that is used to propel its body forward and increase its speed when swimming. It has a medium-length, shiny black tongue that is used for cleaning its eyes (alike to a gecko), and jaws lined with sharp, black teeth.

Abilities

Dazzling Flash
Dazzling Flash is an active ability that generates a quick white flash and causes nearby creatures to experience confusion, tunnel vision, and blurred vision. It has a 70 second cooldown.
Agile Swimmer
Agile Swimmer is a passive ability that causes the player to receive the following buffs when submerged underwater for more than a second: 100% more stamina regeneration 50% more total stamina 75% more walk speed 75% more sprint speed A % increase in oxygen (oxygen increase percentage is based off the amount of oxygen the creature originally has) Additionally, a glider semi-aquatic (and an aqua-glider) can abuse the extra stamina to increase the number of glide flaps it can perform from the water boosted. Until they touch the ground or stop gliding, the boosted stamina amount will remain.
Bleed Attack (2.5)
Bleed Attack is a passive ability, where the user inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on a creature with every bite, excluding with breath/ranged abilities or reflecting abilities. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Block Bleed (0.25)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Block Poison (0.5)
Block Poison/Poison Block is a passive ability that grants resistance to poison status once they reach max age (100). Like many other block defenses, it works by blocking a percentage of the ailment received. If a creature's Poison Block is 100%, then they are immune to those stats (and will be healed instantly if they are somehow applied) once they reach age 100.
Climber
Climber is a passive ability that allows the user to walk on walls and ceilings. To detach from a wall, press the Space on PC. On Mobile, press the dedicated Detach button, or, if the creature has Jump, press the jump button.
Defensive Poison (2)
Defensive Poison/Melee Toxin is a passive ability that makes the user deal Poison Status to an attacker upon being attacked. Stacks with itself.
First Strike (0.4)
First Strike is a passive ability that grants the user increased damage while they are above 75% health. The damage increase is depends on the creature and is reflected in its stat menu.
Poison Attack (1)
Poison Attack is a passive ability that makes the user deal Poison Status to another creature upon biting them. It stacks with itself. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Wing Shredder (2)
Wing Shredder is a passive ability that allows the user to offensively deal the Shredded Wings status to a creature they bite..

Trivia

  • Designed and redesigned by @SnickerDoodles#9204 on the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. The Lissiceous was inspired by the Blue Lizard from Rain World, but the anatomy and appearance was inspired by an OC of the concept creator. Its oldest concept did not appear very different from the previous concept besides a skull-like patch of white on its entire upper head and some missing markings on the legs. The Lissiceous redesign wasn't inspired by anything in particular. In the redesign it takes on a more jaguar/axolotl-like appearance.
  • Modeled by Erythia.
  • Rigged by Wolfragon.
  • The Lissiceous was one of the creatures available in pre-beta testing.
  • It used to be called "Lissuceous" from its old concept.
  • Some players referred to the pre-remodel as a "sea puppy", referencing its canine-like appearance.
  • As named so by its description, the Lissiceous should actually access or climb trees. It is unknown whether this feature will be added in future updates.
  • Due to a color bug when its redesign came out, you could color the Lissiceous to look exactly like its old design, by tinting the dark blues in a certain pattern. This is now patched and is not possible anymore.
