Appearance
The Pernirex appears to resemble a carnivorous theropod, sporting vibrant red markings and spines on its tail. Its nostril is a slitted gap, with heat-sensing pits on the sides. It has a total of four pale red eyes on the front of its head. The Pernirex does not have front arms, instead it has a chest lined with spikes. Its legs are long which it uses to run lengthy distances. A hooked talon is spotted on its thumb appendage on both legs and is used to dig into enemies and prey when using a pouncing ability. In its mouth hosts sharp teeth and a long red forked tongue. A sharp tip can be seen on the end of its tail along with a line of sharp spikes which are believed to be used to cause bleed while running.
Pernirex has no gender dimorphism.
Abilities
Burrower (3)
Burrower is an active ability that allows the user to place up to 4 (or a specific creature limit) burrows anywhere on the map and use burrows created by other players. If a user places more entrances than the maximum allowed, the oldest burrow and exit will be replaced. A user cannot place a burrow entrance inside its own burrow or inside someone else's burrow. There is a 3 second cooldown between entering and exiting burrows, excluding entering a burrow after its initial placement.
Latch
Latch is an active ability that allows the user to latch onto higher-tiered creatures. Creatures that the user has latched into cannot escape for 5 seconds. After that, the latched creature can struggle by pressing any button and will release such creature from the latch. The user can unlatch at any moment by pressing the same button used to latch in the first place.
Bleed Attack (4)
Bleed Attack is a passive ability, where the user inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on a creature with every bite, excluding with breath/ranged abilities or reflecting abilities. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Block Bleed (0.25)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Egg Stealer
Egg Stealer is an active ability that allows creatures to steal eggs from the nests of other players. If a creature has this ability, eggs are also highlighted with an egg icon when scenting.
Quick Recovery
Quick Recovery is a passive ability that boosts HP regeneration when the user's health is below 40%. The lower the health, the higher the HP regeneration boost.
Serrated Teeth
Serrated Teeth is a passive ability that offensively inflicts Deep Wounds status when biting.
Strength In Numbers
Strength In Numbers is a passive ability that gives the user a 7% stamina regeneration boost and a 1.5% damage boost. It stacks according to how many creatures with the same ability and species are nearby. If there are no other users with this ability nearby, it will not provide the boost.

- Original concept and redesigned concept by @Snicker_DoodIes or @♢ X ♢ (Snicker_DoodIes) on the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. The Pernirex wasn't inspired by anything in particular other than the "concept of having a long talon at your thumb that you’d use for stabbing people". Pernirex means "The swift king" in Latin. The Pernirex was called the "Agilirex" on its first concept. Originally the redesigned Pernirex was named "Pernixrex", as shown in the redesign concept art.

- The Pernirex is sometimes referred as "Box Raptor" and/or "Red Raptor".
- Confirmed it is planned to gain a pounce ability in the future. This statement is now old, and most likely outdated. It is possible that gaining the jump ability in the recode could be said pounce ability, but it is for now, unknown.
