Abilities

Fortify
Fortify is an active ability with a 90-second cooldown that wipes almost all status effects deemed as negative, excluding thirst, hunger, plushie-derived effects, and weather effects. It will also wipe beneficial status effects if they contain at least one debuff. It grants a short immunity to all status effects gained after being activated, and increases weight by 5% for a short period according to the stack number (3, in this case).
Harden
Harden is an active ability which decreases movement speed by 20% in trade of a 35% increase in weight and 25% increase in health regeneration. Does not affect turning rate or turning speed.
Agile Swimmer
Agile Swimmer is a passive ability that causes the player to receive the following buffs when submerged underwater for more than a second: 100% more stamina regeneration 50% more total stamina 75% more walk speed 75% more sprint speed A % increase in oxygen (oxygen increase percentage is based off the amount of oxygen the creature originally has) Additionally, a glider semi-aquatic (and an aqua-glider) can abuse the extra stamina to increase the number of glide flaps it can perform from the water boosted. Until they touch the ground or stop gliding, the boosted stamina amount will remain.
Block Bleed (1.00)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Block Injury (1.00)
Injury Block/Block Injury is a passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting Injury status from melee attacks at the very least. It is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 Injury per hit and the receiver has 60% Injury Block, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 Injury.
Broodwatcher
Broodwatcher is a passive ability that allows users to assist in the gestation of other players' eggs. It applies one stack of Gestation to nearby creatures, which increases other creatures' egg gestation speed by 2.5%. The total buff any nesting species can receive is 5%, so only two Broodwatchers can be effective at any one time. Additionally, when sitting near a nest, the Broodwatcher gains 5 Defensive, which starts to decrease if they move.
Charge (Throw)
Charge is a passive ability that gradually fills an orange "Charge" bar (unique to creatures with this ability) while running. Once completely full, clicking (Lmb on PC or on Mobile or RT on Xbox) will apply special effects on a creature the user is hitting. If the bar is not full, charge effects may be reduced or non-existent. Current Charge types:
Defensive Injury (1.5)
Injury touch/Defensive Injury is an ability that defensively deals injury status when bitten.

Trivia

  • Concept by JaxonBirb and Stood_04. The Phugu is inspired by a platypus, a duck, and a potted plant.
  • Second confirmed and released creature of the Easter Event of 2021.
  • Phugu's plant-like features turn different colors according to each season, similar to how Lmakosauruodon's tree changes colors.
  • Originally called "Platduck".
  • It is the first semi-aquatic event creature.
  • The Phugu has green blood in Legacy. Due to this, when killed, the Phugu drops a green carcass in Legacy. This is an actual color in some Earth creatures: both from those that use chlorocruorin, a green oxygen carrier that replaces hemoglobin in some invertebrates blood; and in some vertebrates (like some green tree skinks) that have adapted to carry lethal amounts of biliverdin in their blood, which is a toxic byproduct of heme catabolism whose only good side is that it has anti-mutagenic properties. Its possibly green just because of the inspiration of this creature, meaning the blood could be sap or moss mixed with gravel, which is more fitting for the Phugu.
  • It has the same calls (lower pitched calls) and swimming animation from Traiboros.
  • Players can select the colors from the leaves or the back with the color-select tool to paint your creature with colors outside its normal palette. However, they'll only display in the main and paint menu, and not in-game. Unintended color selections will revert to default colors after clicking "Play".
