Appearance

The Vaumora is a wyvern-like creature similar to some clades of prehistoric birds, wielding various patches of white fur and feathers. Its wings are partially webbed, but retain flight feathers, along with several more webs between its limbs. Its head adorns large sickle-shaped horns, and its throat seems to have open-air "nostrils" where you can see its bare flesh. Its tail is spiny and thin, with spikes protruding from it. Throughout its body, it has a general consistency of black and white colorings, yet its webbing and bare flesh are blue-violet in hue. Its eyes and markings on its face and chest glow and actively pulse. The Vaumora also has glowing lightning particles on its horns, chest, and tail.

Vaumora has no gender dimorphism.

Abilities

Shock Area
The Shock Area active ability inflicts Shock Status, Broken Legs Status, and slows down flight speed by 60% for 30 seconds when used. It has a 90 second cooldown.
Change Weather
Change Weather is an active ability that forces any current weather to change to a new type, including Thunderstorms. If a natural disaster is already happening, the ability cannot be activated. It can also "appear" to change the day/night cycle (in fact, it really doesn't) if it happens to be night and the ability triggers sunny weather. The ability cannot change a weather immediately after another Change Weather invocation. It can only be used by creatures with age 67 or higher and has a 600 second (10 minute) cooldown.
Bleed Attack (3)
Bleed Attack is a passive ability, where the user inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on a creature with every bite, excluding with breath/ranged abilities or reflecting abilities. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Block Bleed (0.15)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Charge (Gore)
Charge is a passive ability that gradually fills an orange "Charge" bar (unique to creatures with this ability) while running. Once completely full, clicking (Lmb on PC or on Mobile or RT on Xbox) will apply special effects on a creature the user is hitting. If the bar is not full, charge effects may be reduced or non-existent. Current Charge types:
Iron Stomach
Iron Stomach is a passive ability that allows the user to eat rotten meat without getting negative ailments from it--preventing them from getting the Sickly Status.

Lore (non-canon)

  • The Vaumora's horns and bony tail are made of steel metal to conduct electricity.
  • The entirety of Vaumora's organs and flesh are adapted specifically to outstand electric currents and conduct them.

Trivia

  • Modeled by NauticaElurra, rigged by Wolfragon, and animated by CatboyNathann.
  • NauticaElurra designed this creature while drawing inspiration from a harpy eagle.
  • As of 4/15/2022, the Vaumora has lightning markings on its horns, chest, and tail. These markings glow, fade, and have fast moving particle effects.
  • It is the first creature to have the Shock ability on Legacy. (Crata Peretina shares this ability.)
  • Vaumora was the second creature to receive the Lightning Breath ability (Keruku being the first).
  • Vaumora's legacy playstyle fits a glass cannon in that it has high damage and high speed, but has low health.
  • Vaumora's nose/nostrils look very similar to those of some species of real-life new world vultures. In fact, this specific type of nostril is called a pervious nostril. This unique shape allows the vultures to eat from carcasses without scraps of meat getting stuck, plus gives them the ability to catch the scent of a potential meal from several hundred feet up in the air.
  • Vaumora is in one of the Legacy game's thumbnails. The art was made by Freakshow and NauticaElurra on the official Discord. This artwork was first featured on this wiki's banner.
  • Often called "Vau" by players due to Roblox's auto chat filters.
  • The Vaumora once borrowed calls from the Sochuri before new calls were added on May 31st, 2021. [Expand] for Classic Calls.
