Appearance

The Sigmatox appears to be a bipedal creature with 4 extra pairs of arms, 2 on its ventral (front) side and 2 on its back, the pair on its back is the largest. The Sigmatox's overall appearance is sharp and jagged, as spikes and spines run across the creature's body. Its head features spiked horns, a bunch of jagged teeth and mouth lined in the tip with beak-like parts, and seemingly no eyes. Sigmatox's tail has an additional head at the end which has even more jagged teeth and no eyes.

Abilities

Invisibility
Invisibility is an active ability that makes the user invisible to other players when toggled. Invisibility allows the user to walk and swim cloaked as long as they don't bite, use any active ability, sprint, ambush, or jump/fly/glide. While active it does not hide the creature from being spotted by scent. Additionally, invisibility has a 30 second cooldown after being activated; however, deactivating the ability does not modify the cooldown.
Bleed Attack (3)
Bleed Attack is a passive ability, where the user inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on a creature with every bite, excluding with breath/ranged abilities or reflecting abilities. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Block Bleed (0.25)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Block Poison (1.00)
Block Poison/Poison Block is a passive ability that grants resistance to poison status once they reach max age (100). Like many other block defenses, it works by blocking a percentage of the ailment received. If a creature's Poison Block is 100%, then they are immune to those stats (and will be healed instantly if they are somehow applied) once they reach age 100.
Climber
Climber is a passive ability that allows the user to walk on walls and ceilings. To detach from a wall, press the Space on PC. On Mobile, press the dedicated Detach button, or, if the creature has Jump, press the jump button.
Iron Stomach
Iron Stomach is a passive ability that allows the user to eat rotten meat without getting negative ailments from it--preventing them from getting the Sickly Status.
Keen Observer
Keen Observer is a passive ability that allows the user to see the health, equipped Plushies, Traits, and status effects of nearby creatures with a green HP bar over them. Temporary status buffs are set on green, temporary status debuffs on red, traits now present their correct indicator and plushies are marked with their plushie icon.
Poison Attack (1)
Poison Attack is a passive ability that makes the user deal Poison Status to another creature upon biting them. It stacks with itself. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.

Wing Shredder is a passive ability that allows the user to offensively deal the Shredded Wings status to a creature they bite..

Behavior

  • Adult Sigmatox are quite protective of their young since they don't usually birth many, and the species itself is quite rare. Usually the Sigmatox have small family groups containing 2-3 adults and the children. However, packs don’t last too long and split up after the children become young adults.
  • The Sigmatox species are highly intelligent creatures, knowing when to pick a fight and when not to.
  • Sigmatox can trick creatures.
  • Sigmatox can be very curious, and like to use their hands a lot for multiple things, such as grabbing a Minawii or Eulopii and gently giving them a loving squeeze, and wondering why it’s screaming.

Lore (non-canon)

  • Sigmatox has a lot of arms used for pinning and grabbing, but despite being curious creatures, they aren't one to mess with. The pair of arms on its back can easily pry open a Kendyll's mouth, and the other arms are good at restraining mid-size prey.
  • They can topple over a skyscraper if it had a reason to.

Trivia

  • Concept by Bahamut_Ex from the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. The Sigmatox was "originally based off a dragon from ff9, but the new one is based off one of my art pieces I never finished. The dragon is the Bahamut summon I got the eye horns from it a small detail but I really liked it lol" (quoted by concept creator Bahamut_Ex).

  • The Sigmatox is an exclusive creature to roles that are Tester and up in the Creatures of Sonaria Discord, meaning it is only provided to users with those roles. However later it was stated it is traded the same way as Aereis. Before Sigmatox, Seradae was the original planned Tester creature.
  • One of the first three creatures in-game that possesses 8 limbs, the others being Viracniar, and Ura.
  • Sigmatox attacks both via biting and using its arms.
  • On Legacy, the Sigmatox has light green blood, an actual color for some Earth creatures, including one genus of skinks. Due to this, when killed in Legacy, the Sigmatox drops a green carcass, like Sar'Hingaro and Coniferon.
