The Pokemon world is filled with many green Pokemon types. There is also a Frog Type of Pokemon. In this guide, we’ll list all Frog Pokemon from every generation.

All Frog Pokemon

All Frog Pokemon

We have given the details of all the cute and occasionally overpowered frog Pokemon. If you are looking for the perfect Pokemon to complete your frog team. Here is a complete Frog Pokemon guide that you need to know about.

Bulbasaur – Generation 1

  • HP: 45
  • Speed: 45
  • Attack: 49
  • Special Attack: 65
  • Defense: 49
  • Special Defense: 65

The original adorable frog Pokemon Bulbasaur is a lovely little frog-cabbage hybrid first-generation Pokemon. Got its first appearance in the 1996 Game Boy game.

Ivysaur – Generation 1

  • HP: 60
  • Speed: 60
  • Attack: 62
  • Special Attack: 80
  • Defense: 63
  • Special Defense: 80

Bulbasaur evolves into a slightly larger frog-cabbage named Ivysaur when it reaches level 16 in any of the mainline titles. On its back, a large flower is there. This pokemon can be found in any of the same games in its littler form.

Venusaur – Generation 1

  • HP: 80
  • Speed: 80
  • Attack: 82
  • Special Attack: 100
  • Defense: 83
  • Special Defense: 100

Venusaur is still competitive due to its good speed, high defense, and overall decent offense.

If you want Venusaur for its frog-like qualities, then it can be a good choice as this tank-rad toad fights well.

Poliwag – Generation 1

  • HP: 40
  • Speed: 90
  • Attack: 50
  • Special Attack: 40
  • Defense: 40
  • Special Defense: 40

Poliwag in the looks maybe just a baby tadpole. But its first evolution was of tanky water, which gets to be a fighting type. Its aspects can be seen in its translucent body.

Its first generation is mostly like a frog-like bunch.

Poliwhirl – Generation 1

  • HP: 65
  • Speed: 90
  • Attack: 65
  • Special Attack: 50
  • Defense: 65
  • Special Defense: 50

Poliwhirl is undoubtedly the froggiest of this generation. It has extreme frog features like squat stature and bulging. Its adorable eyes are centered on top of its unibody frame.

Poliwrath – Generation 1

  • HP: 90
  • Speed: 70
  • Attack: 85
  • Special Attack: 70
  • Defense: 95
  • Special Defense: 70

This might be the best  Pokemon line frog evolution brought to the table. Not only in this generation but altogether in the Pokemon line. Poliwarth, a beefed frog pokemon, is the pinnacle of what a water fighting type Pokemon should be.

Poliwarth is the coolest of frogs. The ability to punch ice in front of it tells you about the cool guy’s toughness.

Politoed – Generation 2

  • HP: 90
  • Speed: 70
  • Attack: 75
  • Special Attack: 90
  • Defense: 75
  • Special Defense: 100

Politoed is undeniably a toad who is a single-evolution Pokemon.

This pokemon looks like a cute little happy frog. It evolved from Poliwhirl when it was traded. It is one of the final forms of Poliwag.

Lotad – Generation 3

  • HP: 40
  • Speed: 30
  • Attack: 30
  • Special Attack: 40
  • Defense: 30
  • Special Defense: 50

This pokemon is highly debated on the internet. Whether Lotad is a frog or not. In my opinion, Lotad is just a frog. Lotad has a lily pad sitting upon it instead of the way around.

Lotad is the only Pokemon who is frog-like in the third generation, which is quite disappointing. Its later evolution and generations evolved into Apes I think that is why Lotad is the only frog type in its generation.

Croagunk – Generation 4

  • HP: 48
  • Speed: 50
  • Attack: 61
  • Special Attack: 61
  • Defense: 40
  • Special Defense: 40

Croagunk is a cute little pokemon who is also mischievous. Right now, Croagunk seems to be the most accessible Pokemon.

Toxicroak – Generation 4

  • HP: 83
  • Speed: 85
  • Attack: 106
  • Special Attack: 86
  • Defense: 65
  • Special Defense:65

The only thing which bothers me about the Toxicroak and Croagunk is their teeth. Toxicroak is being evolved from Croagunk. However, the Bulbasaur evolution also has some teeth but they look cute.

Besides Bulb, in my opinion, the froggies should not have teeth.

Tympole – Generation 5

  • HP: 50
  • Speed: 64
  • Attack: 50
  • Special Attack: 50
  • Defense: 40
  • Special Defense: 40

Tympole is a little tadpole that has giant over-the-ear headphones. If there was a ranked list then Tympile would be in a very high rank.

Despite the beginning being weaker. Tympole becomes a beastly bullfrog in the next stages.

Palpitoad – Generation 5

  • HP: 75
  • Speed: 69
  • Attack: 65
  • Special Attack: 65
  • Defense: 55
  • Special Defense: 55

The second evolution of the Tympole can be summed up as if you were to stretch Tympole out and throw some feet on. You will get a second form from Tympole.

The thing which I wished for was that Game Freak should have come with another name. Because the name is similar between Politoed and Palpitoad. Sometimes this confuses the user too.

Seismitoad – Generation 5

  • HP: 105
  • Speed: 74
  • Attack: 85
  • Special Attack: 85
  • Defense: 75
  • Special Defense: 75

When comparing the evolution line of Seismitoad and Poliwrath, one thing is similar between them. They both share the same three evolution patterns. But in technical terms, the Poliwag is a froglet. Whereas the Tympole is a tadpole pokemon type.

Froakie – Generation 6

  • HP: 41
  • Speed: 71
  • Attack: 56
  • Special Attack: 62
  • Defense: 40
  • Special Defense:44

Now we have begun to conclude this frog-type pokemon list. The first one is Froakie. Froakie is adorably accessible to non-fans of the series.

Froakie possibly is the cutest Pokemon ever. Anyone can fall in love with this little frog pokemon. A big, trusting but cautious eyes and a little cottony mini scarf which is wrapped around its neck. This makes Froakie adorable.

Frogadier – Generation 6

  • HP: 54
  • Speed: 97
  • Attack: 63
  • Special Attack: 83
  • Defense:52
  • Special Defense: 56

Froakie envolved into Frogadier. Froakie is the primary frog pokemon and comes first in mind when thinking about the amphibious Pocket Monsters.

Considering the evolution line, both of the lines reach the end of the spectrum. Even the Frogadier in its teenage stages was awkward. Still, it manages to keep the cute aspects of Froakie.

Greninja – Generation 6

  • HP: 72
  • Speed: 122
  • Attack: 95
  • Special Attack: 103
  • Defense: 67
  • Special Defense: 71

The last frog pokemon in this list which we will talk about is possibly one of the most overpowered ones.

Greninja is just a scarf-veiled ninja frog that can completely kick any of its opponents. There might be only one Pokemon that could outcool the mighty Poliwrath. And yes you have to guess the name of that pokemon right? Greninja is that frog pokemon.
