Tower of Fantasy is the newest edition to the world of MMORPG, with a similar aesthetic to Genshin Impact. One of the critical aspects of ToF is to gain XP to level up and increase base stats such as Attack Damage and HP. But leveling up alone is not enough. To enhance your damage more, you’ll need to use deeper mechanics of the game.

Gear Slots
One of the essential things a new player should know is how the gear system in this game works. If you go into the character menu, you will find 8 different slots that you can equip gear into. These gear slots are:
- Headgear
- Shoulder armor
- Body armor
- Wrist guard
- Belts
- Leg armor
- Gloves
- Boots
The important point regarding the gear slots is the fact that they can be upgraded. Upgrading the gear slots will enhance the stats of the gear. The best thing is that the slot level remains the same even if you swap out the older gear for a new one.
If you keep all 8 slots at the same level, every 10 levels upgraded will provide you with a cool new enhancement. This enhancement could quite possibly boost your character’s damage. So it’s best if you upgrade all your gear slots together.
Gear
If you are just starting with this sci-fi game, your gear slots will be empty. Once you start completing story missions and dungeons in the game, you will be rewarded with new gear for each gear slot.
The gear will have 5 qualities: Grey, Green, Blue, Purple, and Gold.
Gold has the highest rarity and will be the most difficult to score, but the stat and damage boost will be worthwhile. Conversely, Grey gear is the most common of them, thus providing the lowest damage boost.
However, that doesn’t make it any less useful. Something is better than nothing. So initially, try to equip gear into every gear slot, regardless of the stats and quality. Once you start unlocking higher quality gear, you can then equip the better ones and gradually increase damage boost.
As you progress in the game, you will be able to unlock better tiers of gear.
You can also upgrade the gear itself. Doing this will also increase the gear stats. However, we advise you to hold out on upgrading gear until you get your hands on the rarer ones. This will ensure that you don’t waste your precious resources upgrading basic gear which you will soon replace with better ones, later in the game.
Upgrade Your Main Weapon
You heard it, folks. The most straightforward way to increase your character’s damage is to upgrade the weapon you have equipped. Upgrading the weapon will increase all of the base stats of the weapon, thus making it stronger.
Depending on the weapon, the upgrade can blow a hole in your pocket. This is primarily because the weapon upgrades will not be restricted to one copy, but several. You will also have to upgrade tons of items. So try to invest only in the one you intend to use as your main weapon.
Another way to increase your weapon stats is by ascending them. Once you hit the Weapon level cap, you cannot make any more upgrades to the weapon. From here on out, to enhance them further, ascending them is the only way to do so.
You may have noticed the stars below every weapon. The higher the number of these stars, the stronger your weapon will be. Ascension of weapons takes place in the same menu as the upgrading of weapons. It will also give your weapon “bonus buffs” at higher weapon levels, making the cost to ascend a weapon all the more worthwhile
Use Matrices
Each weapon has 4 matrix slots:
- Emotion slot
- Mind slot
- Belief slot
- Memory slot
Every matrix equipped into the slot will give your weapon a major bump in its stats. Matrices have different types with each type having its set effect.
If you equip all 4 matrices of the same type, you will be awarded bonus stats that will substantially increase your weapon’s strength. To top it all off, your weapon will also gain a buff effect that is exclusive to that matrice type. Hence, make sure you choose your matrice type carefully.
