Honkai Star Rail Jing Yuan Story Introduction
As the Cloud Knight General that commands the Xianzhou Luofu, Jing Yuan surely brings the aura of a great leader that can maintain Xianzhou Luofu peace. Assigned as one of the Six Charioteers of the Luofu, everyone can put their trust in Jing Yuan’s deep experience in battle. Before the war itself started, the great mind Jing Yuan himself already set up a brilliant tactic to win the battle.
After you complete the first chapter of the main story, the adventure of the Trailblazer and the Astral Express Crew embarks on a new journey to Xianzhou Luofu, because there is a “news” that a Stellaron will cause great disaster if nobody does anything about it. At the same time, Blade, a member of the Stellaron Hunters is also running away inside Xianzhou Luofu. Will Jing Yuan as the Cloud Knight General be able to maintain the peace of Xianzhou Luofu?

Best Honkai Star Rail Jing Yuan Build
Please note that this build is from the last beta that Jing Yuan was available to play test. We’ll update this guide once he releases on the live servers.
Since Jing Yuan is an Erudition Path character, his kit revolves around dealing AoE lightning attacks to the enemies. Some could even say assigning Jing Yuan to your team means that you will also have the “hidden fifth character”, the Lightning Lord himself, that will always deal follow-up AoE lightning attacks to the enemies too. Jing Yuan could be built as a great AoE lightning DPS character and become the AoE Lightning weakness breaker.
For Jing Yuan’s Relics and Planar Ornament build, it’s better to prioritize still increasing Jing Yuan’s lightning DMG boost first, then his ATK. Because even though his kit revolves around his ATK, Lightning DMG boost will still increase all Jing Yuan’s damage, including the Lightning Lord’s attack damage too.
As for Jing Yuan’s Light Cone build, you can focus on the Erudition Path Light Cone, since we can’t activate the effect from the other Light Cone’s Path. Here are the best Light Cone, Relics, Planar Ornament, and the best Team Comp for Jing Yuan.
Honkai Star Rail Jing Yuan Best Light Cone
Despite Jing Yuan having a follow-up attack just like Herta or Himeko, Himeko’s kit is focused more on breaking the enemy’s weakness break, while Herta’s Light Cone only focuses on increasing her follow-up attack. But Jing Yuan’s kit focuses more on dealing high damage from his Ultimate and Skill attack. So it’s better to increase his overall damage or find a bonus for increasing Ultimate DMG from 4-star or 3-star Light Cone.
Here are the recommended Light Cones for Jing Yuan.
Before Dawn

Increases the wearer’s CRIT DMG by 32/40/48/56/64%.
Increases the wearer’s Skill and Ultimate DMG by 20/25/30/35/40%.
After the wearer uses their Skill or Ultimate, they gain Somnus Corpus.
Upon triggering a follow-up attack, Somnus Corpus will be consumed and the follow-up attack DMG increases by 48/60/72/84/96%.
Before Dawn is the Best in Slot Light Cone for Jing Yuan.
Increasing the Skill and Ultimate DMG, not to mention increasing CRIT DMG (which is a very rare buff for a light cone).
It will also increase Lightning Lord’s follow-up attack damage.
If you have this Light Cone, just equip this and you don’t need to think about anything else.

The wearer regenerates 20/23/26/29/32 Energy immediately upon entering battle, and increases Ultimate DMG by 24/30/36/42/48%.
Regenerating energy only activates once, but the damage buff for the Ultimate DMG here is the reason why this Light Cone is also recommended for Jing Yuan.

But since this is a 3-star rarity Light Cone, you can easily get the max to superimpose effect, which could even potentially be subpar with The Seriousness Light Cone.

With DMG increase buff for all of Jing Yuan’s attack, and not to mention the extra ATK buff after defeating the enemy, this Light Cone is suitable when you want to auto farm materials in Calyxes or fighting crowd enemies.

This effect can only be triggered 1 time per turn.
If you don’t have any 4 star or 5 star Light Cone, this Light Cone will help Jing Yuan to cast his Ultimate more often.
Thanks to the 3 star rarity, it will be easier to superimpose this Light Cone to max too.

Jing Yuan’s kit revolves around his ATK. As the buff last for 2 turns, it is a good compensation to maintain high damage for Jing Yuan.
It’s more recommended to equip Passkey for Jing Yuan
Honkai Star Rail Jing Yuan Best Relics
In the current final beta access, the best build for Jing Yuan is to increase his Lightning DMG boost and ATK.
4 set Band of Sizzling Thunder is the best Relic build for Jing Yuan since it buffs both the Lightning DMG and the ATK buff too. But if you don’t have the full set yet, you can also choose this build alternative down below.
Band of Sizzling Thunder
2 Set: Increases Lightning DMG by 10%.
4 Set: When the wearer uses Skill, increases the wearer’s ATK by 25% for 1 turn(s).
Musketeer of Wild Wheat
2 Set: ATK increases by 10%.
4 Set: The wearer’s SPD increases by 6% and Basic ATK DMG increases by 10%.
*Choose two of these if you don’t have the full sets above.

2 Set: (Sizzling Thunder)Increases Lightning DMG by 10%.

Even though Thief of Shooting Meteor will not buff Jing Yuan’s attack damage, the Break Effect increase can still be helpful as Jing Yuan is one of the best AoE lightning weakness breakers right now.
Honkai Star Rail Jing Yuan Best Planar Ornaments
Right now, it would be better for you to increase Jing Yuan’s Ultimate damage first and Inert Salsotto suits the best for Jing Yuan, since the secondary effect also buff Jing Yuan’s follow up DMG.
Inert Salsotto’s secondary effect is more easier to activate compared to Celestial Differentiator too, so we highly recommend you to aim for the former Planar Ornament first.
If you don’t have Inert Salsotto or Celestial Differentiator, you can also go with Space Sealing Station or Sprightly Vonwacq.
Inert Salsotto
2 Set: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 8%.
When the wearer’s current CRIT Rate reaches 50% or higher, the wearer’s Ultimate and follow-up attack DMG increases by 15%.
Celestial Differentiator
2 Set: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 8%.
When the wearer’s current CRIT Rate reaches 80% or higher, the wearer’s Basic ATK and Skill DMG increase by 20%.
Space Sealing Station
2 Set: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 12%.
When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, the wearer’s ATK increases by another 12%.
Sprightly Vonwacq
2 Set: Increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 5%.
When the wearer’s SPD reaches 145 or higher, the wearer’s action is Advanced Forward by 50% immediately upon entering battle.
Honkai Star Rail Jing Yuan Team Comp
For the team comp, Jing Yuan will cover the role of your AoE lightning weakness breaker and AoE DPS. So you can aim for another element’s DPS or add a healer or shielder to maintain survivability for your team. Honkai Star Rail’s enemy is usually filled with multiple different elements’ weaknesses, and not solely only lightning. So it will be far more recommended for you to go with multiple elements in your team instead of the mono lightning team.
