Honkai Star Rail Dan Heng Story Introduction
Dan Heng is one of the key characters in Honkai: Star Rail that walks alongside Trailblazer, the main character in this game. As the person who acts as the Astral Express’ guard, Dan Heng is a calm, reserved, and cold young man. With Cloud Piercer, the spear that he wields all the time, Dan Heng actually goes along with the Astral Express to run away from his past.
With the story that progressed from the Beta Access, we can learn that Dan Heng is very sharp, have a critical mindset, and have the capability to observe the surrounding and situation clearly, making him one of the characters that scream “reliable”. But for now, there is no information yet about Dan Heng’s past because Dan Heng himself is very silent about it. As Dan Heng travels away together with the Astral Express crew, Himeko, Welt, March 7th, and the new crew, Trailblazer, will Dan Heng be able to run away from his past? Or will it just bring him closer to the thing that he tries to forget?
Best Honkai Star Rail Dan Heng Build
Since Dan Heng is a Hunt Path character, he can be one of your main DPS characters. His skill will slow the enemy if you are able to proc the critical hit, and his Ultimate will deal higher damage to slowed enemy. If your team cast a skill (whether it is a buff or a heal) to Dan Heng, it will also increase his Wind RES PEN, so we highly recommend you to pair Dan Heng together with a support character or a healer.
For Dan Heng’s Relics and Planar Ornament build, since he is a wind character, we highly suggest you to go with 4 set Wind Relics Eagle of Twilight Line so that Dan Heng will be able to gain more turn after casting his Ultimate, and also have higher damage. For the Planar Ornament, you can go with CRIT Rate or ATK Planar Ornament to have higher damage for Dan Heng.

This Light Cone could potentially be Dan Heng’s Best in Slot Light Cone due to the high CRIT DMG buff, and it will also increase Dan Heng’s chance to proc a critical hit if he failed to do so from his basic ATK or Skill.

While the wearer is in battle, for every 10 SPD that exceeds 100, increase the wearer’s Basic ATK and Skill DMG by 6/7.5/9/10.5/12%, and increase the CRIT DMG of their Ultimate by 8/10/12/14/16%.
This effect can stack up to 8 time(s).
The secondary recommended Light Cone for Dan Heng.
It would be quite harder to take benefit of the ATK, Skill DMG and CRIT DMG for Dan Heng’s Ultimate buff since it scales on Dan Heng’s SPD.
But if you can invest a lot of SPD for Dan Heng, then this Light Cone is very worth it for his damage investment.

Similar effect to Only Silence Remains except the ATK buff. But this Light Cone is more useful especially if you fight bosses since they are the ones that often have buffs.

The downside of this Light Cone is you need to defeat the enemy to activate the ATK buff.

For the Planar Ornaments, you would like to invest in a lot of CRIT Rate since Dan Heng’s Ultimate attack is a one-hit attack, so it will be a hit-or-miss situation. If you have enough CRIT Rate, you can also go with the ATK Planar Ornament.

Since Dan Heng can act as your Main DPS character, you can pair Dan Heng with either a Sub DPS character from Destruction Path, or Erudition Path, or you can also couple Dan Heng with more DPS character from the Hunt Path too.
Usually a lot of player also pair main DPS character with Harmony Path so that you will have higher damage outcome from the buff that they gave to your ally. When in doubt, you can also pair Dan Heng together with other element characters to counter enemy’s weakness break.
