Appearance

The Lorolael is a large, sauropod-like creature bearing several flower-like decorations, most apparently on its neck and tail, both of which consisting of three rings of petals. A row of spines run down the Lorolael's neck, starting at the top and ending where its petals begin. It has several frills on its body as well, placed on its shoulders, torso, and hind legs. The Lorolael's tail seems to resemble a spined flower stamen, ending in a round, cluster-like bulb. They have four legs, each of them ending in three prominent toes. The Lorolael bears a friendly 'smile' on its face.

**Males**: Males have a plant-like structure on the tip of their heads.

Abilities

Block Bleed (0.35)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Block Injury (0.35)
Injury Block/Block Injury is a passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting Injury status from melee attacks at the very least. It is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 Injury per hit and the receiver has 60% Injury Block, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 Injury.
Block Poison (0.5)
Block Poison/Poison Block is a passive ability that grants resistance to poison status once they reach max age (100). Like many other block defenses, it works by blocking a percentage of the ailment received. If a creature's Poison Block is 100%, then they are immune to those stats (and will be healed instantly if they are somehow applied) once they reach age 100.
Broodwatcher
Broodwatcher is a passive ability that allows users to assist in the gestation of other players' eggs. It applies one stack of Gestation to nearby creatures, which increases other creatures' egg gestation speed by 2.5%. The total buff any nesting species can receive is 5%, so only two Broodwatchers can be effective at any one time. Additionally, when sitting near a nest, the Broodwatcher gains 5 Defensive, which starts to decrease if they move.
Charge (Crush)
Charge is a passive ability that gradually fills an orange "Charge" bar (unique to creatures with this ability) while running. Once completely full, clicking (Lmb on PC or on Mobile or RT on Xbox) will apply special effects on a creature the user is hitting. If the bar is not full, charge effects may be reduced or non-existent. Current Charge types:
Defensive Necropoison (1)
Defensive Necropoison is a passive ability that makes the user deal Necropoison Status to an attacker upon being bitten. It stacks with itself, but does not get worse over time.
Defensive Poison (2)
Defensive Poison/Melee Toxin is a passive ability that makes the user deal Poison Status to an attacker upon being attacked. Stacks with itself.
Pack Healer
Pack Healer is a pack-oriented passive ability. This passive ability allows the user to boost the HP regen of their fellow packmates.

Behavior

  • Lorolael will sleep with their heads upright for safety. For further protection, they sleep in large groups in more tropical environments.
  • Lorolael spend the majority of their time stationary and grazing on large trees.

Lore (non-canon)

  • Lorolael are not exclusively hibiscus; they can come in plenty of other types of foliage, as that is how they blend into their environment. There are even rumors of aquatic Lorolael. However, this is unconfirmed due to a mass die off of the Lorolael species, and only the hibiscus variant can be found on Sonaria.

Trivia

  • Concept by heyitsXhosa in the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. Lorolael was inspired by hibiscus flowers and sauropods, especially Amargasaurus.
  • Rigged by ThunderBoo666.
  • Animated by Minisode1_BlueHour (Aphauxin).
