Appearance

The Veludorah is a bipedal creature with long, clawed arms. It bears a large crest that arches over its head and has markings that mimic wires or circuitry. It has four plates on its back all which share a similar look to its crest. Draping across its arms are several belt-like decorations. Its tail is long and ends in a flat, spade shape. It also has structures on its legs that give the impression that the creature is wearing boots.

**Males**: Male Veludorah have a large, bright blue, boomerang-shaped crest on their head.

Abilities

Shock Area
The Shock Area active ability inflicts Shock Status, Broken Legs Status, and slows down flight speed by 60% for 30 seconds when used. It has a 90 second cooldown.
Bleed Attack (5)
Bleed Attack is a passive ability, where the user inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on a creature with every bite, excluding with breath/ranged abilities or reflecting abilities. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
Block Bleed (0.35)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Channeling
Channeling is a passive ability that activates when a user with it is at 25% or less health. Every 5 seconds, any creature within a 150 stud radius of the user will receive 3 shock status and 2 confusion status. The status effects stack with each strike.
Climber
Climber is a passive ability that allows the user to walk on walls and ceilings. To detach from a wall, press the Space on PC. On Mobile, press the dedicated Detach button, or, if the creature has Jump, press the jump button.
Iron Stomach
Iron Stomach is a passive ability that allows the user to eat rotten meat without getting negative ailments from it--preventing them from getting the Sickly Status.

Behavior

  • The Veludorah's behavior is similar to a bear's, but it is more of a shy/curious hunter.
  • The Veludorah is hostile towards anything smaller than it, especially when it's raising its chicks. Anything its size or larger and it'll flee, possibly even abandon its young if it has to.
  • Veludorah prefer to nest on elevated surfaces where they're out of reach.

Lore (non-canon)

  • The Veludorah, like the Prabiki, is capable of climbing.
  • The Veludorah are carnivores because while they get their energy from the light absorbed through their deep blue crests, their systems cannot synthesize proteins which their mostly-organic body needs, which explains its carnivorous side (this can imply it's partially synthetic).

Trivia

  • Concept by TyrantDinosaur889 on the Creatures of Sonaria discord. Veludorah is "based off the robotic/steampunk them cc were told about so hrhrhr. He’s a photocarni and I went with the idea of solar panels (the crest and back) is how he gets sunlight power. Steampunk is usually a grunge/dirty kinda theme right? So I went with themed colors and gave em boots and these belts on the arms (bc why not but they also look nice) and more leathery parts. The circular designs on the arms are vaguely based of those toy circuits while the designs on the solar panel plates are supposed to mimic wires." (Quoted by concept creator TyrantDinosaur889) Originally, the Veludorah was named "Velduorah" as shown in the original concept art; this was a mistake in communication as no one corrected Naut when they were calling it Veludorah, thus the name stuck and was not changed back. Was stated to be a photocarnivore and a Tier 4. However in legacy game, it is a Tier 3 regular carnivore.
  • Animated by Rook.
  • When unlocked from the Mutation Explorer Gacha, the Veludorah's menu icon has too-small-to-properly-read-text above, most likely just its name.
  • One of the faces in the legacy model has been rendered backwards (inside instead of outside, on the right side of the head, under the eyes and between them and the nostril). This can be seen in detail here. This can also be seen in this glimmer image, where the glow from the other side can be seen through the hole.
  • There's a bug where the tail falls as a juvenile on legacy, but it comes back once grown to teen.
