Skadi is one of the very few field modifiers of the ninth department directly under Xio’s command, and is responsible for investigating signs of visual activity in the ocean area. Although she looks carefree on the surface, when it comes to critical moments, she can always show the courage that a captain should have.

Waverender Skadi Build

She is an ice main carry that possesses both support and damage-dealing capabilities, although her DMG output is not particularly remarkable. Her support abilities are only effective in an ice team comp. She is one of the two modifiers with two different forms, with her normal form better suited for dealing damage, while her “Cruising Mode” is more focused on freezing and stunning as a support.

Aether Codes choices: There are three different builds, each with its own unique playstyle.

  • For those focused on dealing damage, we recommend Left 3 Aether Codes, which utilize charged attacks to deal huge amount of damage.
  • Right 3 Aether Codes increase DMG output in “Cruising Mode.”
  • Mid 3 Aether Codes are specifically designed for an ice team comp, enhancing ice DMG for the entire team.
  • There is another Aether Code build, the Mid 2 Right 1, which utilizes the “Icebreaker Mark” for damage bonuses. When controlled by the AI, this build can deal a decent amount of damage.

Sigil choices: We recommend combining the old ice set (Vanargand’s Seal set) with the Griffin’s Pride set. The Vanargand’s Seal set increases crit DMG, while the Griffin’s Pride set increases crit rate. By combining both sets, Waverender Skadi Skadi can significantly increase her DMG potential.

If you are using Right 3 Aether Codes, you can use the Vanargand’s Seal set with the Philosopher’s Fantasies set to enhance Divine Grace regeneration and increase the usage of Skill 2 under “Cruising Mode”. If you only have one ice modifier with her signature, we suggest focusing more on the newer ice build, the Icy Edge of Frozen Seas set with the Philosopher’s Fantasies set.

If you prefer not to pull for her Signature Functor, you can choose the 4-star Functor, Merfil. However, due to recent updates and nerfs, currently only the “Cruising Mode” can fully benefit from Merfil’s damage bonus buff. In her normal form, we do not recommend using Merfil. (My beloved Merfil~)

We highly recommend including Arctic Abyss Poseidon in team comps as a must-pick. With Arctic Abyss Poseidon’s freezing and ice resistance shred, Waverender Skadi can deal damage effortlessly. Since her Signature Functor focuses solely on DMG output and will dilute the set effect from Witch’s Judgement set, it’s better to use the melee set (Night Owl’s Raid set) or the Golden Fleece set as the third sigil set when she reaches Omega Transcend Level with her Signature Functor.

Additionally, Waverender Skadi requires significant investment to unleash her full potential. Therefore, we generally do not recommend investing in her.

Waverender Slice
Basic Skill
Skadi swings the Shipslicer Sword carried onboard the Wavecutter in tandem with her equipment, dealing 498% (Max: 872.8%) Ice DMG.
Execute Charged attack「Frostbreak」by holding the Basic attack key after any Basic attack, dealing 250% (Max: 437.5%) Ice DMG, and this is considered a Skill.
Casting Basic attack while in Cruising Mode will automatically lock-on and fire 2 “Sharpblade-type” guided missiles, every missile dealing 80% (Max: 160%) Ice DMG, and will fire 2 additional missiles when the locked-on target is under the Freeze status.
Passive: Due to Wavecutter’s presence, Skadi will not be sent flying by attacks.

Divine Grace: When not in Cruising Mode, obtain Divine Grace when hitting Basic attacks and Charged attacks.
Cold Front
Skill 1 9s CD
Use the Shipslicer Sword to execute a high-speed combo attack to enemies ahead, dealing 1000% (Max: 2000%) Ice DMG.
Obtain 1 Icebreaker Mark on hit, increasing Charged attack DMG by 20% for every Icebreaker Mark in possession.
While in Cruising Mode, Skill 1 will be replaced with Skill 1: Cruising, consuming Icebreaker Marks to fire freezing guided missiles at the locked-on target, dealing 360% (Max: 720%) AOE Ice DMG to enemies in range and inflicting the “Freeze” status, lasts 2s
Flash Freeze
Skill 2 9s CD
Dash at high speed with the help of Wavecutter, slashing ahead with the Condensed Ice Edge, dealing 700% (Max: 1400%) Ice DMG.
Divine Grace: Obtain 15 Divine Grace on hit.
While in Cruising Mode, Skill 2 will be replaced with Skill 2: Cruising, and will be available for casting when Divine Grace is maxed, launching a dash attack at the locked-on target, dealing 300% (Max: 600%) Ice DMG, simultaneously raising “Sharpblade-type” guided missiles’ firing speed, lasts 2s.
Get a short dodge window while dashing, which can also trigger Dodge effect.
Divine Grace: While in Cruising Mode, obtain Divine Grace when moving or drifting.
Cruise Mode
Skill 3 25s CD
When Divine Grace is maxed, Wavecutter can consume all Divine Grace to enter Cruising Mode.
While in Cruising Mode, gain “Super Armour” for the duration but will be unable to cast Ultimate, and sharp turns will result in drifting.
Cruising Mode lasts 15s, and casting Skill 3 again or reaching the time limit will exit Cruising Mode, after which dive under the ice for a short while before resurfacing close to the target, dealing 700% (Max: 1400%) Ice DMG.
Iron on the Waves
Dodge Skill
Tapping Dodge while moving: Quickly dodge, dealing 100% (Max: 200%) Ice DMG to enemies along the path. Extremity Dodge will trigger Dodge effect, obtaining 1 Icebreaker Mark.
Holding Dodge while not moving: Consume Dodge Meter to activate a barrier, decreasing self DMG taken by 60%. While the barrier is active, the 1st instance of DMG taken can be blocked by consuming additional Dodge Meter. If in possession of Icebreaker Marks, a successful block will dispel the barrier, and consume 1 Icebreaker Mark to instantly cast Charged attack, during which self will be invincible.

While in Cruising Mode, Skadi will dive under the ice with Wavecutter to dodge attacks. Extremity Dodge will trigger Dodge effect, obtaining 1 Icebreaker Mark.
Glacier Age
Ultimate Skill 25s CD
Wavecutter will enter maximum output, diverting all power to Shipslicer Sword’s energy supply, slamming down after a short chargeup to deal 1000% (Max: 2000%) AOE Ice DMG to enemies in range, simultaneously increasing the team’s Charged attack DMG by 45%, lasts 15s.
When enemies enter the CC-Immune state, obtain a set amount of Ultimate charge.

Wavecutter will enter maximum output, diverting all power to Shipslicer Sword’s energy supply, slamming down after a short chargeup to deal 1000% (Max: 2000%) AOE Ice DMG to enemies in range, simultaneously increasing the team’s Charged attack DMG by 45%, lasts 15s.
When enemies enter the CC-Immune state, obtain a set amount of Ultimate charge.

Winter Hunt
While in Cruising Mode, “Sharpblade-type” guided missiles produced by Basic attacks have a 10% chance of generating 1 Icebreaker Mark on every hit, can only trigger once every 3s.
Desolate Cold
Cruising Mode will consume all Icebreaker Marks. For every Icebreaker Mark consumed, extend Cruising Mode’s duration by 3s.
Polestar
When Cruising Mode ends, increase the resurfacing DMG based on the amount of “Sharpblade-type” guided missiles fired while in Cruising Mode, DMG increasing by 3% for every missile fired, max 100 missiles.

Max Icebreaker Marks is increased by 1.
Icy Ocean
While in Cruising Mode, every Icebreaker Mark in possession increases self Ice DMG by 10%.
Tundra
Buffs related to Icebreaker Marks will now affect the whole team.

When Divine Grace is maxed, casting Skill 2 will consume 25 Divine Grace to inflict “Freeze” status on enemies hit, lasts 2s.
Snowline
When Icebreaker Marks in possession is at max, casting Skill 1 will consume 1 Icebreaker Mark to increase its DMG by 60%.
Snowflake
Charged attacks’ charging duration is decreased by 1s.
When Charged attacks hit enemies, decrease the CD of either Skill 1 or Skill 2 by 1s if they are currently in CD, and successful CD reduction will increase Skill 3’s CD by 3s even if it is not in CD.
