Mutations & Variants

Multipliers & Stacking

All Mutations

Every mutation in Garden Horizons, sorted by multiplier. Mutations are triggered by weather conditions and special events and multiply the crop's sell value on top of growth stage and variant bonuses.

Admin Mutations

These mutations are extremely rare and applied by game admins. They follow the same stacking rules as regular mutations.

Mutation Combos

Some of the highest-tier mutations are crafted by combining two weather mutations on the same plant. When both base mutations are present, they fuse into the combo mutation:

  • Frostbit (3.5x) = Soaked + Snowy
  • Mossy (3.5x) = Foggy + Chilled
  • Muddy (5.0x) = Sandy + Flooded

How Mutations Work

Mutations are special modifiers that change the appearance and increase the selling value of your plants. Unlike growth stages (Unripe, Ripened, Lush) which every plant goes through naturally, mutations are triggered by specific weather conditions and in-game events.

The best part? Plants are not limited to a single mutation — they can stack multiple mutations at once. Mutation multipliers add together, then the total is multiplied by the variant level (growth stage + Silver/Gold).

Sell Price Formula

Final Price = Base Sell × Variant Total × Mutation Total × (Weight ÷ Avg Weight)²

Where:

  • Variant Total = Growth Stage multiplier + Silver (2.0x) + Gold (5.0x)
  • Mutation Total = Sum of all active mutation multipliers
  • Weight Factor = (Actual Weight ÷ Average Weight)² — heavier crops sell for significantly more

For example, a Lush (3.0x) + Gold (5.0x) plant with Starstruck (6.5x) and Shocked (4.5x) at average weight would be: Base × 8.0 × 11.0 = 88× the base price.

The in-game weight display rounds to two decimals, so actual sell values may vary slightly from calculator estimates.

Stacking Mutations for Maximum Profit

Since mutations stack additively with each other, the most profitable setup is a Lush + Gold plant with as many high-tier mutations as possible.

  • Always wait for Lush — the 3.0x base variant multiplies all mutations. The difference between Unripe and Lush can triple earnings.
  • Gold + Lush = 8.0x variant total — this multiplies the entire mutation sum, making every mutation point worth 8x more.
  • High-tier mutations matter most — Starstruck (6.5x) alone with Lush Gold gives 8.0 × 6.5 = 52x the base price.

Weather & Event Schedule

Weather changes every 5 minutes, synced with Bill's Shop restocks. During weather events, plants in your garden have a chance to receive the corresponding mutation. Check your plants by hovering over them to see which mutations they have.

Use the Crop Calculator to calculate exact values for any combination of crop, growth stage, and mutations.
