Acted as the self-proclaimed boss of The Moles adventure squad, Hook is the boss that promoted you as their honorary member of The Moles. Also known by her code name Pitch-Dark Hook the Great, Hook has a very brave soul to her heart. Despite her tenacity in being the leader of The Moles, she actually still has a heart of a young girl.
She’s very caring and kind towards her friends and, of course, to her beloved father too. Not only that, The Moles that she also leads unintentionally have a “connection” to Wildfire, as she is also close to Natasha. Despite this, she often calls Natasha the “old witch” due to her interference with The Moles’ adventure. As the honorary member of the Moles, it is now your turn to help Hook become the best DPS of the Destruction Path. Best Honkai Star Rail Hook Build
Since Hook is a Destruction Path character, she is a great all-rounder DPS character. With the kit that can apply burn or Fire DoT attack to the enemy from her skill, she will have greater damage if she also attacks the enemies with the burn DoT effect. Casting her Ultimate means that her next skill will also deal AoE fire attack to the enemy, but it will only give the burn chance towards the targetted enemy and not the adjacent enemy.
For Hook’s Relics and Planar Ornament build, Hook’s entire damage, including her burning DoT damage scales on her ATK. But since her Talent will buff her fire damage even higher for attacking enemies with burn effect, we strongly suggest you use Fire Relics Firesmith of Lava-Forging since the Fire DMG boost will have a higher multiplier compared to ATK. And for the Ornament, you can use ATK or CRIT Rate Planar Ornament set for Hook to increase her damage even higher.

Hook’s Best in Slot Light Cone.
This Light Cone will increase Hook’s ATK up to 40% after attacking four times.
Since her kit revolves around ATK a lot, this will significantly increase her damage. Very recommended to have since you can get this Light Cone from Herta’s store, too, even for F2P players.

Because Hook’s skill can potentially apply Burn without having to break their weakness, we can benefit from the extra damage buff that this Light Cone gives.
A Secret Vow

The wearer also deals an extra 20/25/30/35/40% of DMG to enemies with a higher HP percentage than the wearer.
Even though we can’t always proc the extra dmg from attacking enemies with higher HP, this Light Cone gives a similar outcome to Woof! Walk Time!
Nowhere to Run

Increases the wearer’s ATK by 20/25/30/35/40%. Whenever the wearer defeats an enemy, they restore HP equal to 12/15/18/21/24% of their ATK.
Despite the self-sustainability of self-healing from dealing with the enemy is quite juicy, we don’t actually need that healing.
But the ATK increase is quite juicy, and it’s very worth it for Hook, so we still recommend this Light Cone for Hook

Increases the wearer’s Basic ATK and Skill DMG by 16/20/24/28/32%.
The Budget F2P friendly Light Cone for Hook.
We can potentially get this Light Cone easier, and the max superimpose effect of this Light Cone could potentially be equivalent to having a four-star Light Cone too.
Honkai Star Rail Hook Best Relics
As a fire DPS character, the Relics choice might be quite obvious since we would like to invest a lot in Fire DMG. But if you don’t have the 4 set Fire Relics yet, you can also go with 4 set ATK or 2 set ATK 2 set Fire Relics until you have farmed enough Fire Relics for Hook.

2 Set: Increases Fire DMG by 10%.
4 Set: Increases the wearer’s Skill DMG by 12%.
After unleashing Ultimate, increases the wearer’s Fire DMG by 12% for next attack.
Musketeer of Wild Wheat
2 Set: ATK increases by 10%.
4 Set: The wearer’s SPD increases by 6% and Basic ATK DMG increases by 10%.

Honkai Star Rail Hook Best Planar Ornaments
Similar to the other main DPS build, for Hook’s Planar Ornaments you would like to invest a lot in CRIT and ATK. We would highly recommend you go with CRIT Rate Ornament that will buff her Ultimate instead of choosing the CRIT Rate Ornament that will buff your Basic ATK and Skill DMG because Hook’s Ultimate significantly outperformed her Basic ATK and Skill DMG combined together.
You don’t need to worry about the Regeneration Rate since Hook’s talent will increase her energy every time she attacks the enemies inflicted with Burn effect.
Celestial Differentiator
2 Set: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 8%.
When the wearer’s current CRIT Rate reaches 80% or higher, the wearer’s Basic ATK and Skill DMG increase by 20%.
Space Sealing Station
2 Set: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 12%.
When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, the wearer’s ATK increases by another 12%.
Inert Salsotto
2 Set: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 8%.
When the wearer’s current CRIT Rate reaches 50% or higher, the wearer’s Ultimate and follow-up attack DMG increases by 15%.
Honkai Star Rail Hook Best Team Comp
As a Fire main DPS character, you can go with a support buff character from Harmony Path, or pair Hook with either Preservation Path, or Abundance Path for better survivability.
You can also go with multiple DPS characters or use any random character that has the specific elemental weakness counter to break that enemy’s weaknesses.
