Appearance
The Nakamaska is a slim creature with a head covered in hard plating that presents a third eye. It has two clawed arms, two legs with long talons, two pairs of webbed leathery wings of which the biggest pair is also used as frontal legs, and a tail covered in plated armor reminiscent of axes. Its face armor also protrudes into four horns, two from the top of the head and two on the sides of the jaw. Its horns, tail, and shoulders are heavily patterned with black stripes, while its neck possesses a mane, and more eye-shapes can be found on its shoulders. **Males**: Males have a feathery beard under their beak and covering part of their neck. Behavior
- The Nakamaska behaves similarly to its inspirations: owls and vultures. They hunt silently, and hover over their victims before dealing a killing blow with their talons. Nakamaska are nocturnal creatures that prefer living in solitude rather than traveling in packs. They are rarely seen in groups; the only time this occurs is when they are caring for their young. Juvenile Nakamaska fledge at a young age and depart on their own journey. During the daytime, if a Nakamaska is not sleeping, they like to scavenge carcasses of previously killed creatures in order to preserve energy for their hunts.

- Concept by malarkeii in the Creatures of Sonaria Discord. Inspired by Majora's Mask (from the The Legend of Zelda franchise), snakes, shamanism, and large birds of prey (specifically bearded vultures/owls). Originally the Nakamaska was meant to be a redesign for Ghibli (which it is the reason Nakamaska shares some similarities with it), although it was later turned into a different creature under a different name. Nakamaska's name is derived from the Filipino word "nakamaskara," which means "masked". Even though Nakamaska's name is meant to mean "Masked" in Tagalog, it has nothing related to any Filipino culture.
