This rod replaces the regular reeling minigame with a 4 lane vertical-scrolling rhythm game. Gain progress by timing your key presses as the notes fall down, advance progress by successfully hitting notes.
There is normally a 1% chance to encounter a special chart, which have pre-mapped note patterns and tighter hit windows: Freedom Dive - xi; WE LUV LAMA - DJ SHARPNEL; Rift Walker - Kry.exe; Virtual Futural; Baryogenesis - celtix.
Certain Enchantments add special colored notes to the rhythm game that grant bonus progress when hit: Chaotic, Piercing, Spooky, Peppermint, Tropical, Rage, Empyrean - adds slash notes which grant bonus progress and briefly stun the fish; Chronos, Cryogenic - adds freeze notes which grant bonus progress, freeze all notes in place, and regenerate progress over time.
Specific fish or families of fish can enable special behavior during the rhythm game: Scylla/Mossjaw/Olympian Devil: Instantly drains a portion of progress; Megalodon: Spawns a burst of extra notes; Leviathan/Skeletal Leviathan: Increases note speed temporarily; The Kraken: Locks out one lane temporarily; Frostwyrm: Increases note speed and shrinks hit windows; Colossal Blue Dragon/Colossal Ancient Dragon/Colossal Ethereal Dragon: Grants fake progress, then drains more after a delay; Bloop Fish: Gradually increases note speed until a perfect hit resets it; Radiant Crystal: Gradually shrinks hit windows until a perfect hit resets it; Wyvern: Drains progress and temporarily speeds up notes.
