The Gnolrok has a large torso, lacking hind legs, with a thick tail. Its body is made entirely of rock, with two enormous forearms and a small, pointed head with small, sharp teeth. Its mouth also contains a long, thin, milk-colored tongue. It has stone-like formations protruding from the back of its head, forearms, and the top of its tail tip that jut upward. It consists of a pale white, and a variety of light and pale browns, a dark gray, and light and dark greens. They also possess a singular, forward-mounted eye on their head, giving them a very threatening appearance that only grows worse with their size.

Abilities

Earthquake
Earthquake is an ability that emits a cartoonish smoke-blast that inflicts the Injury aliment on all nearby creatures. The default Injury gain is 50 stacks; however, the amount of Injury gained can be reduced based off of the percentage of Injury block the creature has.
Block Bleed (0.50)
Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
Block Burn (0.25)
Burn Block/Block Burn is a passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting burn status from melee attacks. It is percentage based. For example, if an attacker deals 5 burn per hit and the receiver has 60% block burn, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 burn. If a creature's block burn is 100%, then they are immune to Burn inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. A negative value may indicate that the creature is vulnerable to burn effects.
Block Injury (0.50)
Injury Block/Block Injury is a passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting Injury status from melee attacks at the very least. It is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 Injury per hit and the receiver has 60% Injury Block, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 Injury.
Block Poison (0.25)
Block Poison/Poison Block is a passive ability that grants resistance to poison status once they reach max age (100). Like many other block defenses, it works by blocking a percentage of the ailment received. If a creature's Poison Block is 100%, then they are immune to those stats (and will be healed instantly if they are somehow applied) once they reach age 100.
Charge (Crush)
Charge is a passive ability that gradually fills an orange "Charge" bar (unique to creatures with this ability) while running. Once completely full, clicking (Lmb on PC or on Mobile or RT on Xbox) will apply special effects on a creature the user is hitting. If the bar is not full, charge effects may be reduced or non-existent. Current Charge types:
Defensive Injury (2)
Injury touch/Defensive Injury is an ability that defensively deals injury status when bitten.
Injury Attack (2.5)
Injury Attack is an ability that offensively deals injury status when biting. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.

Trivia

  • Concept by Stood_04 on the Creatures of Sonaria discord. Gnolrok, aside from being inspired by the theme of the element Earth, was also inspired by lindwyrms.
  • Modeled by Azaph. Gnolrok's head was remodeled by JaxonBirb on 10/28/2022 to more accurately portray the design seen in Stood_04's original concept.
  • Animations by Nimwit.
  • In Legacy, the Gnolrok has brown blood. Due to this, when killed, the Gnolrok drops a brown carcass in the Legacy version. Its color is possibly just because of the inspiration of this creature, meaning the blood could be some kind of mud, which is more fitting for the Gnolrok.
  • In Recode, the Gnolrok has red blood.
  • It is one of the few creatures to have only 2 limbs.
  • It is one of the few terrestrial creatures to have no finger/toes.
  • The letter "G" in "Gnolrok" is silent.
  • Gnolrok is often referred to as "Rock", "Rocc", or "Gnol" to bypass Roblox's filters.
  • During its release, players would pack with other Gnolroks and "migrate" together, following wherever the berries went. This would then lead to other players finding them everywhere.
