Honkai Star Rail Herta Story Introduction

Herta is a genius woman that was well-known in the galaxy. As the highest human IQ in the Blue and also the top member of the Genius Society, Herta is also the real master of the eponymous Herta Space Station. With the appearance of a ranged puppet that got the model reference of how Herta would look like as a child, she will only do the things that peaked her interest the most. Once she loses her interest, then it will be the end of whatever project that she just focused on previously. Despite having an innocent appearance as a cute puppet, Herta also has a sharp tongue mouth that fits her elements, the ice itself.

In this guide, we will help you get the best build for Herta and let her hammer do all the work for you. So, get ready to Kuru Kuru your enemies!

Best Honkai Star Rail Herta Build

Since Herta is an Erudition Path character, she’s very suitable for becoming your AoE DPS character. With the kit that impacts Herta’s damage based on whether the enemies have above 50% HP or below 50% HP, you don’t need to worry much about it because her damage scales on her ATK. So you only need to focus on investing ATK, while at the same time investing in the Ice DMG and CRIT, too, because Herta is an Ice character.

For Herta’s Relics and Planar Ornament build, Ice Relics suits Herta perfectly, and you can go with the offensive build like CRIT Rate Planar Ornament or ATK Planar Ornament to increase Herta’s damage even further.

As for Herta’s Light Cone build, you can focus on the Erudition Path Light Cone since we can’t activate the effect from the other Light Cone’s Path. The good thing about Herta’s Light Cone’s Path is all the Erudition Path Light Cone suits Herta nicely, so you have all the freedom to choose the Light Cone. Here are the best Light Cone, Relics, Planar Ornament, and the best Team Comp for Herta.

Honkai Star Rail Herta Best Light Cone

Before Dawn
✦✦✦✦✦
Increases the wearer’s CRIT DMG by 32/40/48/56/64%.
Increases the wearer’s Skill and Ultimate DMG by 20/25/30/35/40%.
After the wearer uses their Skill or Ultimate, they gain Somnus Corpus.
Upon triggering a follow-up attack, Somnus Corpus will be consumed and the follow-up attack DMG increases by 48/60/72/84/96%.

Not only this Light Cone will increase Herta’s CRIT DMG, it will also increase her Skill and Ultimate DMG.

The only downside of this Light Cone is it will be harder to proc the follow-up attack DMG buff since Herta’s follow-up will only trigger once whenever that enemy has already reached below the 50% HP mark.

Night on the Milky Way
✦✦✦✦✦
For every enemy on the field, increases the wearer’s ATK by 8/10/12/14/16%, up to 5 times.
When an enemy is inflicted with Weakness Break, the wearer’s DMG increases by 24/30/36/42/48% for 1 turn.

The Light Cone that could potentially increase Herta’s ATK up to 40%.

This Light Cone is also very useful as it will increase Herta’s damage, and we usually use Herta for fighting crowd enemies, too, so this Light Cone is a win-win for you.

The Seriousness of Breakfast
✦✦✦✦
Increases the wearer’s DMG by 12/15/18/21/24%.
For every defeated enemy, the wearer’s ATK increases by 4/5/6/7/8%, stacking up to 4 time(s).

The balanced DMG increase buff for Herta’s kit. Since we would like to take advantage of Herta’s high multiplier Ultimate DMG and her Skill damage too, and not only for her follow-up DMG buff, this Light Cone is the one we would recommend more for you if you only have the four-star Light Cone.

The Birth of the Self
✦✦✦✦
Increases DMG dealt by the wearer’s follow-up attacks by 24/30/36/42/48%.
If the current HP of the target enemy is below 50% of their Max HP, increases DMG dealt by follow-up attacks by an extra 16/20/24/28/32%.

Herta’s Signature Light Cone. Despite this Light Cone will increase Herta’s follow-up damage, there is a downside to this Light Cone.

Herta’s follow-up damage has the lowest multiplier scale compared to her skill or Ultimate.
So it would be better to aim for the buff that will increase Herta’s overall damage.

Data Bank
✦✦✦
Increases the wearer’s Ultimate DMG by 24/30/36/42/48%.

The F2P Light Cone that you can choose if you don’t have any four-star or five-star Light Cones.
Herta’s Ultimate has the highest damage outcome, so it’s still worth it to have this Ultimate DMG buff, even if it is from a three-star Light Cone.

Sagacity
✦✦✦
When the wearer unleashes their Ultimate, increases ATK by 24/30/36/42/48% for 2 turn(s).

The more balanced approach to buff Herta’s entire damage and not only for her Ultimate.
It is not mandatory to choose either Data Bank or Sagacity since they both give almost equivalent outcomes for comparison.

Honkai Star Rail Herta Best Relics

Due to her Ice element, all her damage will deal an Ice attack. Since Herta also deals the biggest damage from her Ultimate, we also strongly suggest you use 4-set Hunter of Glacial Forest, as it will also buff her CRIT DMG after casting her Ultimate, which will increase her overall damage even further. If you don’t have the 4-set Ice Relics yet, you can substitute it will 2-set Ice 2-set ATK Relics, or you can also use 4-set ATK Relics too.

Hunter of Glacial Forest
2 Set: Increases Ice DMG by 10%.
4 Set: After the wearer unleashes their Ultimate, their CRIT DMG increases by 25% for 2 turn(s).

Musketeer of Wild Wheat
2 Set: ATK increases by 10%.
4 Set: The wearer’s SPD increases by 6% and Basic ATK DMG increases by 10%.

Hunter of Glacial Forest 2pc
Musketeer of Wild Wheat 2pc

2 Set: Increases Ice DMG by 10%. (Glacial Forest)
2 Set: ATK increases by 10%. (Wild Wheat

Honkai Star Rail Herta Best Planar Ornaments

As for the Planar Ornament, you have more flexibility on the sets. We recommend you have a higher CRIT Rate first since it’s harder to have above 50% CRIT Rate than to have a high ATK attribute. Here are some Planar Ornaments that you can equip for Herta.

Inert Salsotto
2 Set: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 8%.
When the wearer’s current CRIT Rate reaches 50% or higher, the wearer’s Ultimate and follow-up attack DMG increases by 15%.

Celestial Differentiator
2 Set: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 8%.
When the wearer’s current CRIT Rate reaches 80% or higher, the wearer’s Basic ATK and Skill DMG increase by 20%.

Space Sealing Station
2 Set: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 12%.
When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, the wearer’s ATK increases by another 12%.

Honkai Star Rail Herta Best Team Comp

As an Erudition character, Herta excels in delivering AoE attacks to enemies. But, we highly recommend you pair Herta with another main DPS, especially the single target attack like from the Hunt Path or Destruction Path characters, so it will be easier to lower their HP below 50%.

You can also pair Herta with more Erudition Path characters if your focus is on grinding Calyxes because it’s faster to kill the enemies in one go with more AoE characters. Depending on your needs, you can freely adjust Herta’s team comp with the battle that you will encounter. If you spot multiple weak elements that you need to bring, you can also adjust your team comp based on the specific elements that you will need.

Here are some Team Comp examples that you can use with Herta.

Summary

And that’s how you get the best Honkai Star Rail Herta build. One thing you need to know, Honkai Star Rail is still in the 3rd (final) Close Beta phase, meaning that there will potentially be some adjustments and different configurations for the final release. Herta usually is very useful for speedrunning the Calyxes and Cavern of Corrosion, so to make her deal high damage, you only need to focus on investing a lot of CRIT, Ice DMG, and ATK. You can definitely pair her with any kind of character, as she is very flexible in terms of team composition.
