Fish
Species & Prices
Fish are the core resource in Abyss on Roblox. Every biome has its own set of species, ranging from Common catches worth a few dollars per kilogram to Mythical boss drops that require serious firepower to obtain. This guide covers all 39 fish and creatures in the game, including their rarity, weight ranges, sell prices, behavior, and spawn locations.
How Fish Work in Abyss
Fish are caught using your gun while exploring underwater biomes. Each fish has a rarity tier (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythical), a behavior type (Passive or Aggressive), and a weight range that determines how much cash you earn when selling. Passive fish won't fight back; aggressive fish will attack you on sight.
Fish value is calculated as weight x price per kilogram, and can be further multiplied by mutations. Your tube's weight capacity limits how many fish you can carry per trip.
Forgotten Deep Fish
The starting biome. All fish here are on the lower end of rarity, making it a good grinding spot for new players.
| Fish | Rarity | Behaviour | Weight | Price | Location |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Blue Tang |
Common | Passive | 0.5kg - 1.0kg | $14/kg | Forgotten Deep, Ocean |

Best Fish to Farm in Forgotten Deep
Barracuda offers the highest value here at $20/kg with a 6-12kg weight range, meaning a single catch can net $120-$240 before mutations. Mahi Mahi has the highest raw weight (up to 20kg) but a lower price per kilogram. For early-game players, Salmon is reliable passive income with no danger.
Ocean Fish
The Ocean connects Forgotten Deep to other biomes. It shares several species with Forgotten Deep but adds unique Rare and Legendary catches.

Ancient Shark is the headline creature here -- a Legendary aggressive fish described as "a massive shark said to have lived for centuries." Bigmouthfish is the opposite: Legendary but completely passive. It's required for Suspicious Fisher's Quest 1 (catch 3 Bigmouthfish). Cavefish is described as "big, flat, and kinda derpy."
Spirit Roots Fish
Spirit Roots is the largest biome and requires completing Isolde's quests to fully access. It has the most diverse roster of fish, including several Legendary and Mythical species.

For fish with confirmed pricing data, here's a value comparison:
| Fish | Price/kg | Max Weight | Max Single Catch Value | Rarity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Barracuda | $20/kg | 12kg | $240 | Epic |
| Lionfish | $20/kg | 6kg | $120 | Rare |
| Pompano | $15/kg | ? | ? | Common |

| Salmon | $9/kg | 8kg | $72 | Uncommon |

Remember: these values can be massively boosted with mutations. An Abyssal Barracuda (8.5x multiplier) at max weight would be worth $2,040 per catch.
How Mutations Affect Fish Value
Every fish in Abyss has a chance to spawn with a mutation that changes its appearance and multiplies its sell value. The multiplier applies directly to the base price. See the full Mutations guide for all 21 mutation types, but the key ones for fishing profit:
- Poop (0.33x) -- Actually reduces value. Avoid selling these.
- Gold / Negative (2x) -- Doubles the base price.
- Abyssal (8.5x) -- The highest multiplier in the game.
