Gun Progression: What to Buy and When
The first five guns are all available in Forgotten Dome (the starting area's sub-zone), so you can steadily upgrade without leaving the first biome.
Early Game (Forgotten Deep):
- Start with the free Bottle Gun (10 damage).
- Upgrade to Starter Gun ($75) as soon as possible -- 50% more damage.
- The Advanced Gun ($1,050) at 40 damage is the sweet spot for clearing Forgotten Deep content.
Mid Game (Ancient Sands / Ocean):
- Crossbow Gun ($4,750) from Marcus' shop in Ancient Sands doubles your damage over the Air Rifle.
- Wasted Gun ($17,500) from Crazy Jeff's Store is the first gun that makes aggressive Epic fish manageable.
Late Game (Spirit Roots / Angler Cave):
- Magroot Gun ($47,500) and Morveth's Treasure Gun ($82,500) for Spirit Roots content.
- Lost Spirit Gun ($149,500) with 290 damage and 1.9s cooldown has the best DPS among standard progression guns.
- Ruined Gun ($245,000) at 350 damage with only 1.7s cooldown is the highest consistent DPS gun.
Endgame:
- Plunger Gun ($235,000) from Bob's Room has the highest raw damage (420) but a slower 2.3s cooldown and lower control (0.85). It's a sidegrade to the Ruined Gun -- more burst damage per shot but less sustained DPS.

Tube Progression Guide
Starting Out:
- The Wooden Tube (free) maxes out at 15m depth and only carries 5kg. You'll outgrow it in minutes.
- Rush to the Normal Tube ($425) or Fire Tube ($1,250) to access deeper areas of Forgotten Deep.
Reaching Ancient Sands:
- You need at least 180m depth to reach Ancient Sands comfortably. The Pufferfish Tube ($2,850, 180m depth) is the minimum.
- The Boat Tube ($5,250) from Marcus' shop is the natural next step with 275m depth and 100kg capacity.
Reaching Spirit Roots:
- Spirit Roots requires around 375-500m depth. Target the Zepline Tube ($18,500, 375m) or Rukiry Tube ($40,500, 460m).
- Note: The Zepline Tube is unlocked by completing Diver's Delivery #5. The Plane Tube requires Delivery #15.
Endgame Tubes:
- Ruined Tube ($270,000) from Angler Cave has the best Oxygen (370), Speed (32 m/s), and Depth (650m) among standard tubes.
- Bath Tube ($256,000) from Bob's Room has less oxygen and speed but the highest weight capacity in the game at 580kg. Pick this if you want to maximize haul size per trip.
Ruined Tube vs Bath Tube: Which Is Better?
| Stat | Ruined Tube | Bath Tube | Winner |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cost | $270,000 | $256,000 | Bath Tube |

| Speed | 32 m/s | 27 m/s | Ruined Tube |

Ruined Tube is better for exploration, speed-running, and combat. Bath Tube is better for maximizing fish hauls and profit per trip with its 100kg extra capacity.
Miscellaneous Equipment
Two utility tools round out the equipment roster:
| Item | Cost ($) | Obtained From | Usage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Radar | 450 | Forgotten Dome | Detects nearby fish and allows you to view their statistics. |
| Minimap | 2,450 | Crazy Jeff's Store | Portable mini map, can show nearby chests. |
Is the Radar Worth It?
Yes. At only $450, the Radar is one of the best early purchases. It shows you what fish are nearby and their stats, which helps you target specific species for quests or avoid aggressive ones. Buy it right after your first gun upgrade.
Is the Minimap Worth It?
The Minimap ($2,450) from Jeff's Store shows you a map of your surroundings and highlights nearby chests. It's less immediately useful than the Radar but becomes valuable when farming treasure chests for achievements and quest completions.
