Wrath Classic (WotLK) Rogue Hit Cap for PvE & PvP

What is the PvE Hit Cap for Rogue in WotLK Classic?

The recommended hit cap for rogues in WotLK classic is 237. If you have a Draenei in the same group for Heroic Presence, then you can go down to 210 instead. This rating will make your poisons never miss. However, it does require Improved Faerie Fire or Misery up on the boss as well.

This is not the actual hit cap, however, after reaching 237 rating the value of hit rating rapidly declines. Going after the expertise cap or agility is far more valuable at that point.

Without any debuffs, the cap for poisons is 315 rating. If you’re in a raid group without the aforementioned debuffs, then this will be your ideal hit cap (or find a new raid group!)

If you’re wondering about the hit cap for non-poison damage, it’s:

  • Mainhand: 5% (164 rating)
  • Offhand: 24% (Around 720 rating)

As you can see, the mainhand is easily achievable. However, the offhand is way off and isn’t worth getting.

What is the PvP Hit Cap for Rogue in WotLK Classic?

The hit cap for rogues in PvP, like all classes, is 5% (164 hit rating). However, Night Elves have the Quickness racial, which decreases their chances of being hit. You’ll likely not want to accommodate your hit rating to 7% just for them, but it should be kept in mind while fighting them.

Sub Rogues also have the Heightened Senses talent, which also reduces their chance of being hit. That means that Night Elf Rogues Sub rogues can have a whopping 11% chance of not being hit!

What is the Expertise Cap for Rogue in WotLK Classic?

The expertise cap for rogues in WotLK Classic is 25.
