Best Class in Borderlands 2

It is hard not to talk about Borderlands 2 when talking about the greatest first-person looter shooter of the last decade. Even though we have seen new Borderlands games released after it, Borderlands 2 still remains the favourite among fans. That is due to its fast-paced gameplay and the variety of weapons you can use.

You will be spending a lot of your time shooting enemies and exploring the wastelands for questlines and new challenges. To complete these challenges and quests to the best of your abilities, you need to choose the right class for your playstyle. To make things easier for you, we will compare all these classes and decide what is the best class in Borderlands 2.

Best Class In Borderlands 2: All Classes Ranked

Borderlands 2 has a total of 6 classes for you to choose from. 2 of these classes are offered in DLCs. Every class has its own strengths and abilities. You have to make this decision depending upon your playstyle and skill level. We have ranked each of these classes to give you a better understanding.

Gunzerker

Best Class in Borderlands 2

Salvador is the easiest choice when choosing your class in Borderlands 2. You can mow through enemies by dual-wielding any weapon that you like. This makes you an absolute powerhouse on the battlefield.

Salvador’s unique ability, called The Grog Nozzle, makes him even more invisible. The ability gives you additional damage while also healing you for 65% of the damage that you deal. Salvador can make the Borderlands 2 campaign feel like a breeze, and that is amazing if you want to experience the story.

5

Commando

Best Class in Borderlands 2

Axton is the easiest character to use in Borderlands 2. His primary abilities include quick reloads and weapon swaps. You can focus on the most fun aspect of Borderlands 2, which is the shooting. Commando should be the class you choose if you are picking up the game for the first time.

Axton’s unique ability Sabre Turret allows you to strategically place a turret on the ground. The Turret will start shooting enemies nearest to it allowing you to have an edge on the battlefield.

4

Siren

Best Class in Borderlands 2

Maya has one of the best abilities in Borderlands 2, where she can form a bubble that traps enemies and makes them float in the air. This ability can be used to get you and your squad out of tricky situations where you have been surrounded by enemies.

Maya can be classified as a supporting character and will come in very handy if you are playing with friends. Playing her solo is also not a bad option since she is strong enough against most enemy types.

3

Mechromancer

Best Class in Borderlands 2

Like Kreig, Gaige is also a DLC character. Gaige has the ability to call a flying robot that can take down your nearest enemy. Mechromancer can be the best class if you are looking to take down giant bosses. Gaige has a plethora of explosives in her arsenal, and you can use them to take down large bosses.

Gaige also has an excellent ability where her damage is increased by 1.75% after every kill. Mechromancer is an excellent choice if you are looking to dominate Borderlands 2 as a solo player.

2

Psycho

Best Class in Borderlands 2

Kreig is probably the most fun character to play in Borderlands 2. The character is focused on a melee-heavy build that deals an unreal amount of damage with every attack. His ability ‘Buzz Ax Rampage’ sends you into a fury of rage. Whatever weapon you have equipped is replaced with a giant two-handed Axe that deals 500% damage.

Playing Psycho is all about creating chaos in Borderlands 2, and you will be relying on grenades and melee weapons to do damage. You can also run through the field by lighting yourself on fire. Psycho is amazingly fun, but if you are looking to play as a team handling Kreig can be a little tricky.

1

Assassin

Best Class in Borderlands 2

Zer0 is the character you get after choosing the Assassin class in Borderlands 2. Zer0 is a character that shines the brightest in stealth scenarios and long-ranged combat. If you are someone that likes to play that way, then Zer0 might be the character for you. But if you are a new player choosing Zer0, you might not be able to last long since he dies very quickly.

However, if you have reached the endgame, there are some abilities that you can unlock for Zer0 that make him one of the best classes in the game. But, if we talk about beginners, Zer0 might not be the best choice for you.

Conclusion

Each class in Borderlands 2 has its upsides, but it is for you to decide what kind of play style suits you best. We tried to rank each class by its utility and versatility, but you can still choose any class you like if the playstyle suits you.
