Elden Ring Best Whips and How to Get Them

Whips are strong weapons in Elden Ring that are quite fun to use. They have a decent range that you can use to keep the enemies away from you during melee combat. While they are not the ideal weapon of choice for most players, I suggest that you try them out because they are so much fun! Here’s our complete Elden Ring best whips guide.

Elden Ring Best Whips and How to Get Them

If you decide to give them a try, check out this guide to know which whips are the best and how you can get them. The whips mentioned below are all quite strong and will deal a lot of damage. Plus, you will have a fun time using them as well.

The best whips in Elden Ring are:

  • Magma Whip Candlestick
  • Giant’s Red Braid
  • Hoslow’s Petal Whip
  • Thorned Whip

Since there are a few whips in the game, you can find all of the ones mentioned above. We will show you why these are so good and where you can get them so that you do not have any issues looking for them. With that said, let’s dive right in and take a look at the best whips in Elden Ring and where you can get them,

Magma Whip Candlestick

When it comes to whips, the Magma Whip is easily the best in the game thanks to how great its stats are and its scaling. It has a scaling of E in Str, D in Dex, and D in Fai. To properly use it, players must have at least 8 in Str, 16 Dex, and 18 Fai

This is a great weapon if you want to go for the Dexterity and Faith hybrid builds. Its skill – Sea of Magma – allows you to viciously swing your whip and spread lava all across the area. This is a great skill to deal damage to enemies that have you surrounded or zone out an enemy and force them to retreat.

This item is a reward from Patches after you complete his assassination quest, Great Horned Tragoth, for him. Keep in mind that you must complete it before killing Rykard or you won’t be able to complete it.

Giant’s Red Braid

This whip is quite literally a red braid from a giant. It not only looks cool but also has a lot of good stats. It has a D in Str, D in Dex, and a D in Fai. Plus, you need to have at least 18 Str, 12 Dex, and 21 Fai

Its skill – Flame Dance – allows you to imbue this braid in fire and swing it around. You can deal a lot of damage to the enemy with this skill since it is quite fast and deal a lot of damage.

If you want to get his whip, you need to head over to the Roundtable Hold and trade it with Enia. You need to give her the Remembrance of the Fire Giant which you can get after defeating the Fire Giant at the Mountaintops of the Giants. It is a late-game weapon that is quite effective.

Hoslow’s Petal Whip

Hoslow’s Petal Whip scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity. It is a good weapon for inflicting bleed against enemies. Plus, the whip itself looks beautiful, so, it is a must-have for players that prefer to fight in style. The bleed damage is quite useful since it can overwhelm the enemy during a PvP fight and force them to make mistakes since they will panic from taking a lot of damage.

If you want to find it, you can acquire it by completing Diallos’ questline if Rykard is defeated before completing the Volcano Manor questline. The overall questline is quite fun and will give you a lot of backstory on the lore of Elden Ring. So, you will not only be getting a strong weapon as a reward but also completing a fun quest as well.

Thorned Whip

Elden Ring Best Whips and How to Get Them

The Thorned Whip is a weapon that I would not want to get hit with. It looks brutal due to the multiple thorns sticking out of the weapon. It has a scaling of E in Str, and C in Dex. You need to have 8 Str, and 16 Dex to wield it, making it a good choice for a Dex weapon.

Plus, after every hit, you apply the Bleed debuff on the enemy. This isn’t an ordinary Bleed effect since it applies a lot of bleeding and deals tons of damage. You can get this weapon by killing the Fire Prelate wielding it north of the Giants’ Mountaintop Catacombs entrance (northeast of  Zamor Ruins, just before the long narrow bridge).

You might have to kill this enemy multiple times since the drop rate is low. So, if you do not get it after killing him, rest at a Site of Grace and come back to kill him again.
