Elden Ring: How to Reach Mohg, Lord of Blood

Elden Ring is no different, with its enormous world brimming with challenges. However, due to the massiveness of Lands Between, it can sometimes be difficult to track down certain bosses. In this guide, we will be looking at how to get to Mohg, Lord of Blood. Without further ado, here’s How to get to Mohg in Elden Ring!

Mohg is an optional boss found in the Mohgwyn Palace. That means, if you’re not deliberately looking for him, you can end up missing the fight entirely. But the upside to this is that you can face him whenever you get equipped with strong gear. Regardless of when you try to fight Mohg, there are two possible methods to get to Mohg in Elden Ring. They both will lead you to the Mohgwyn Palace, after which the journey is the same for both methods.

Portal Method

Elden Ring: How to Reach Mohg? Portal Method

In the Consecrated Snowfield, a portal leads directly to the Mohgwyn Palace. However, getting to the Consecrated Snowfield itself can be a challenge of its own. To do so, you’ll need to use the Haligtree Secret Medallion at the Grant Lift of Rold in Lendel, Royal Capital. The Haligtree Secret Medallion is split in two, where the right half can be found in the Village of the Albinaurics and the left half in Castle Sol.

But once you make it to the Consecrated Snowfield, you need to make your way to the western ridge of the foggy snowfield as shown in the image. If you get invaded by the Sanguine Noble along your journey, that is an indicator that you’re on the right path. Going past it will take you to the blood-covered portal. It will teleport you into a cave with a straightforward path leading outward, directly to the Mohgwyn Palace.

White-Faced Varre Questline

There is another method, which is, in fact, faster, on how to reach Mohg in Elden Ring, and that is through the White-Face Varre Questline.

You will encounter an NPC at the First Step Site of grace, right near the start of the game. This exact NPC can be found at the Roundtable Hold after defeating Godrick. If you visit him there, he will have a bunch of dialogue and will then change his location to the Rose Church, southwest of Liurnia. He will award you with the Festering Bloody Finger if you meet him again. This item can be used to invade other players, which is exactly what we’ll need to do to commence with the questline.

After you invade at least three players, you will be asked by Varre to join his order with the Bloody Lord. Agreeing to his offer will grant you the Lord of Blood’s Favor item, which you must “soak in the blood of a maiden.” That can be done easily with the help of a corpse in the Church of Inhibition.

Returning to Varre after soaking the Favor item will earn you the Pureblood Knight’s Medal. You can use it to get teleported directly to Mohgwyn’s Palace.

Navigating through the Mohgwyn Palace

Elden Ring: How to Reach Mohg? Navigating through the Mohgwyn Palace

Once you’ve reached the Mohgwyn Palace, you will need to get through the confusing blood-filled land to find Mohg. Upon reaching Mohgwyn Palace, head left and down into a bloody lake. With your horse, Torrent, make your way through it to reach the Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum. Continue to the path upwards to your left; it’ll eventually lead you to a cave with an elevator on the other side. Taking the elevator will lead you directly to the boss fight.

With that, you now know everything about reaching Mohg in Elden Ring. He is certainly an interesting boss and can be quite tough the first time around. We wish you the best of luck in your battle against him!
